The timeline for signing given by AP was well after Mugabe's funeral and the excuse given was travel arrangements of the ministers and a lot of speculation was on Manangwa's visit to Russia. Smokein- It is AP,s fault because he gave the timeline and the Zimbabwe Gov. didn't sign the rns. Also there should have been lots of information on BP that should be updated post financing approval by shareholders, like updating the gant chart/schedule of works. The rns itself stated that they(Vast) missed the signing by a day- so it is therefore their fault rather than the Governments, there are many echoes of BP licence approval and Mercuria funding in this latest saga.

You have to give credit to Zimbabwean politicians for sussing out AP as a bs,er. They have learned from how he lied to the Romanians in getting BP licence by saying he had finances ready t0 proceeding to production, we all know how way off the mark that was. ZCDC are not going to sign anything until there is clear identified funding completely sorted knowing AP,s track record. He's taken almost 12 months to get an inkling of a crap funding package and for which the board have celebrated by rewarding themselves with rights.

Exactly if this is true then AP has misled the market, he did state in an RNS that the deal was complete and only waiting for final signature.

When doing your research you need to be vary of the Company and it's management's style of rns's in vague and loose language, to give an impression of things happening but being flexible in it's interpretation it may not- for example in our rns of 24th September it is stated " set to be officially signed during 1st week of October" clearly gave the impression this was going to happen, but lawyers could have a field day arguing about "set".

Sandy surely you don't think Vast contracts were discussed at cabinet, The cabinet has decided the overall diamond policy and it is a matter for ZCDC to implement those decisions at a delegated level. The only thing I could catch from that brief snippet is, " short one" , so presumably he is referring to the briefing, it should be over by now and if there was any substance to any project then there would have been rns prepared to be released just after.
