@Tigra
Thank you!! Massively appreciate the overview. Being out of the chats for the past year has felt quite overwhelming coming back into it when there's 40+ new pages a day.
Hi all. Not going to lie, haven't been on here for about a year...mostly because I got bored of waiting for something to happen and checking the share price constantly was getting me down, but also because I was fed up with all of the fighting and disagreements going on within this board. So I left the EUA in my HL account and just let it sit there, but I've just had a look and saw that it's tanked :/ Obviously something to do with the Russia situation, but could anyone be so kind as to give a topline overview of what I've missed over the past year? Are they still expecting a deal to go ahead at some point? Or is it looking a bit hopeless? We've been waiting 2+ years now and I'm feeling a bit impatient if I'm honest.
I really hope so! I'm in the process of buying my first home and could do with the extra cash for all the renovations I want to do, haha. GLA - it looks like all this waiting may finally be paying off!
I've had a nightmare day with estate agents so this 30% increase today has literally made my day. I'm gonna celebrate with a Five Guys biscoff milkshake in an hour!
Thank you those of you who responded with measured and useful replies and did some further research for me on DLA Piper! As I said, I'm not an expert and was trying to find info in a short amount of time in-between work meetings. Not all of us have hours (or even just half an hour) to spend researching as we have busy full time jobs! I've been invested in EUA for almost a year now - well before suspension - I bought in at 0.5p and my average is 3.35p. I stay off the boards when the share price drops because I find it too stressful so it's easier for me to step back. I'm currently in the process of buying my first house in London, but only have a small amount invested here (much less than most of you!), so I absolutely want this to go for as much money as possible and the wait for news on how much this will be sold for is honestly killing me right now, I just want it done and sorted ASAP!
I'm by no means an expert, and I don't want to be accused of deramping, but I tried to do a bit of research on the average DLA Piper M&A deal amount. All I could find was this, https://www.legal500.com/firms/908-dla-piper/571-london-england/#section-118848, which states they're known for lower mid-market £50-£500million deals. Slightly concerning if we're all expecting a multi-billion £ sale and the lawyers dealing with it aren't the experts for £billion deals, no? I'm hoping I'm wrong in my thoughts, and would be grateful for anyone with a bit more time on their hands to try and find the previous deals DLA have worked on and how much sales have been for. It's a super busy week at work for me so I don't have much time to really get into it and am just skim-reading!
This is probably one of my favourite theories as of late. Do we know how much money Lesego are able to spend on a potential acquisition?
Futures are saying it should open around 27.46p. Fingers crossed it shoots up even higher! T-minus six minutes until lift off...
I'm the same. Every time I watch it closely it does nothing, I step away and it shoots up! I'm not sure how I'm gonna sleep tonight with the anticipation of tomorrow's potential!
To be fair to him, I'm invested in about 15 other stocks but EUA is the only board I post in. Mostly because due to, ya know, life (full time job, social life, exercise, cooking, family time, downtime, side hustles, etc etc), I barely have time to post in this one let alone fifteen others, but also this is hands down the most exciting and fast moving one! Most of my shares are for long-term holding (I'm only 29yo), so the fact that EUA is going through a sale is hugely exciting -and new! - for me.
I think there's a big issue with everyone jumping on newbies here and being very accusatory, but maybe they should be given the benefit of the doubt first. Why would anyone bother posting here if they weren't invested? It's not exactly the most user friendly board and it's so fast-moving it takes hours to read through all the posts (not great for those of us who aren't retired and have a very busy life). There will always be rampers and de-rampers, but everyone is also entitled to share a fair opinion and view without being accused of being a fake investor. At the end of the day, if you actually make investment decisions based on people you've never met on the internet and their ramping/de-ramping, you shouldn't be investing anyway. So if you don't like someone's post, just ignore it. Don't waste energy and clog up the board with accusing people you know nothing about of doing/not doing something that, really, doesn't actually affect you.
I've been staying off here and avoiding looking at the SP since it dipped last week, just logged into Hargreaves Lansdown to check some other shares and got a very nice Friday afternoon surprise! I try not to worry about the SP and just have to remind myself of the value of the company and strong position it's in, but it's definitely hard sometimes to not have a small panic when the SP starts dropping so I just have to stay away from it instead of obsessively checking it constantly (also because when I start doing that I end up doing very little work, and work has been madness lately).
Silversurf, I've been to that spoons in llandudno!! Just to use the toilets mind. I'd fed my god-daughter too many fizzy drinks on the pier - oops.
Same!! Also I'd love to take advantage of this whole no stamp duty thing the government are doing if it sells for a decent amount and all gets sorted before March 2021.
david - I will literally organise the party in London if we have an EUA acquisition after-party.
Sibloggs, no. My name on Twitter is completely different because my Twitter account isn't used for investing chat usually. My Twitter username is @luxlifeblog. How on earth did you find @investingqueen from Arizona on the #EUA hashtag?
Sibloggs - you can see me on Twitter yourself for verification, just search the #EUA hashtag and you'll see my tweets that are obviously me as they align with what I've posted here. Like I said, I'm not one to hide and stay anonymous.
Sibloggs - some people may desire to hide behind anonymity, but I've never been one to stay anonymous. Staying anonymous means no one can be held accountable for their words and actions. And trust me, I'm well aware that no one on the internet is your friend.
Franny1968 - *crying laughing face* I'm 29, how many Carole's do you know in their twenties? Haha.
Ha no it isn't. My name begins with C. Although my older cousin is called Wendy, she lives in the US and is the coolest woman ever IMO. She once drove three hours just to meet me for dinner because I was reasonably close to where she lives. But I digress.
