I think there are 4 potential reasons for softness of SP:-

General ALL asset market softness: - Most markets are lower and VIX is very high causing fear.

No News nervousness specific to CEG/Sintana.

Profit taking: - Lots of folks made good profits in recent months and need to fund Christmas!

Margin calls: - Many caught wrong in mkts like Crypto and have to stump up extra dosh.

My understanading is that it is part of the deal to AIM list - see RNS.

There are apparently technical timing issues re coincidence of action, however only a matter of weeks.

I believe we should have a dual listing by New Year.

From someone who has been here from the beginning – Alan Burns (founder of CEG) -recognised as one of the best fossil fuels diviners for many years back in the day with multiple big find successes (including Africa) and subsequent “Buyouts” by Majors.

I have made big profits and big losses along the way and am currently a bit down due to the final Bahamas trades.

However: -

• The Bahamas was a one shot, tiny oily who DID drill.

• It was quite amazing that the drill happened as everyone said it would not, due to:

1. Macondo

2. Environmental pressure around the World

3. Subsequent political prevarication by Bahamas Govt who blew in the wind of Populism

4. Legal action by the Bill/Mill aire owners of property fronts in Paradise Island.

At the various times there were Billions of shares in ownership, and we now have about 1/4 Bill

Do the Maths – sorry – Math for our US friends – it isn’t too difficult - I believe.

You pay your money etc. and I do research extensively - this is a good bet.

It isn’t going much lower based on the actual metrics of Sintana and also Chevron being the vested interest.

Thoughts: -

• SP manipulation is obvious, and IMO is also for further accumulation by vested interests.

• Additionally, historically, M&A/JV activity by The Company has posted a “Scheme”/Deal price and then there has been significant activity to protect that agreed price to ensure a 25-30% “Premium” ---- makes the deal look good on D – Day.

• I still believe that this is ultimately, the start of a JV/Merger/Buyout by a Major. All the tidying up of holdings points to that, so that the Major, I believe has its lawyers drilling (sorry pun intended) into historic legal issues e.g. AU$ RNS the other day.

All speculative, however, whichever way I spin this the SP is undervalued at current levels.

Yes I can now be accused of going on a bit. However:-

Yesterday's trades - Buy/Sells (including the last large "Sell" trade) are broadly equal.

We get a large last "Sell" @ 16.35 to keep the SP in the Band.

If this is not manipulation then I am, after 40+ years of Pro and PI trading a complete idiot!

This is we PIs being played.

Not trying to be clever folks just a bit of experience thrown in for free.

Well, I try not to get emotive about shares and SP movements, however: -

If anyone is selling now due to PERCEIVED SP action is IMO being mugged.

This is so obviously being manipulated by “The Corporates” to keep the SP down for final outcome it is quite staggering.

There you go: a bit emotive and potentially ramping but having looked at all the dets since announcement this is cheap as chips.

On the face of it I cannot argue with you because I agree - why merge now when FO for OFF-3 is potentially imminent.

Which as I alluded to the other day says to me that something bigger is happening behind the scenes:

Yet still more “UNKNOWNS” in decent size over the last few sessions since announcement indicates corporate activity and IMO is on the Buy side of the market in late booked trades. Possibly indicates still more M&A activity.

Add to that what appears to be some tidying up of holdings: - RNS’s

I am speculating that the Merger is the first phase of an ultimate Buyout by a Major who wants both Companies with a big red bow on it i.e. 1 company and 1 JV/FO.

Wishful thinking perhaps but also a possibility.

I wonder if the “Consolidation/Merger” is part of a Farmout/JV covering Uruguay and Namibia?

I just want to understand what I might be missing from Poster’s comments as good info is important for decision making.

So, if Linton has spotted something I have missed then that is useful information.

As alluded to in my earlier post I think folks can waste a lot of their time and mine if it is just sounding off due to historic anger.

It does not help anyone especially themselves IMHO.

What an interesting day and “Comments!”

We have been speculating that something “Corporate” (“UNKNOWNS”) was possibly in the wind and here we are.

Morgan Stanley has been buying all year, and the SP has undoubtedly been “managed” to that end.

“Boysie and Del” have done a deal for us “Rodders” and we should be grateful IMO.

We may turn out to be “Dipsticks” on the road to checking for oil but that is what we are here for.

Who knows this time next year “We might be millionaires!”

Please try not to knock good news for the sake of historic anger.

We are now consolidated into a company that has No debt; No liabilities; Income streams; Plenty of cash and access thereto for drilling.

AND: We are in the same position of being speculators on OFF1/3 AND Orange Basin.

Just to be totally speculative:- wouldn’t it be great if Boysie and Del are using this for leverage to the Big boys to buyout our joint ventures???!!
