I think this forum needs a reminder...
Rules for Successful Bashing:
1. Be anonymous
2. Use 10% fact. 90% suggestion. The facts will lend credibility to your suggestions.
3. Let others help you learn about the stock. Build rapport and a
support base before initiating your Bashing routine.
4. Enter w/ humor and reply to all who reply to you.
5. Use multiple ISP's, handles and aliases.
6. Use two (2) or more aliases to simulate a discussion.
7. Do not start with an all out slam of the stock. Build softly.
8. Identify your foes (Longs) and the boards "guru" Use them to
your advantage. Lead them do not follow their lead.
9. Only Bash until the tide/momentum turns. Let doubt carry it the
rest of the way.
10. Give the appearance of being open minded.
11. Be bold in your statements. People follow strength.
12. Write headlines in caps with catchy statements.
13. Pour it on as your position gains momentum. Not your personality.
14. Don't worry about being labeled a "Basher". Newbies won't
know your history.
15. When identified put up a brief fight, then back off. Return in an hour unless your foe is a weak in reasoning powers.
16. Your goal is to limit the momentum of the run. Not to tank the
company or create a plunge in the stock; be subtle and consistent.
17. Kill the dreams of profits, not the company or the stock.
18. Use questions to create critical thinking. Statements to
reinforce facts.
19. DO NOT LIE, NAME CALL or USE PROFANITY.
20. Encourage people to call the company. 99% won't. They'll take your word for claims made. If they do call you can always find something that is inaccurate in how they report their findings.
21. Discourage people from believing Press Releases.
Encourage them to call the company. They won't out of laziness.
22. If the companies history/PR's are negative constantly point to that. Compile a list of this data prior to beginning your efforts.
23. If the price rises blame it on the hype or the PR, temporary
mass reaction, the market, etc. Anything but the stock itself.
24. If other posters share your concerns, play on that and share theirs too.
25. Always cite low volume, even when it's not.
26. Three or four aliases can dominate a board and wear down the longs.
27. Bait the Longs into personal debates putting their
focus/efforts on you and not the stock or facts. Divert their attention from facts.
28. Promote other stocks that would-be investors can turn to
instead of the one your Bashing.
30. Do not fall for challenges on the "values" of what you are doing, it's a game and you are playing it with your own rules.
stt1, you can assume what you like, but I didn’t agree with you. So, you’re shorting this company? Because, you may as well just be honest about it if you are. Although, personally, I feel it’s a little underhanded to bash a company and claim the BB is just for discussion if you have an ulterior motive.
Weird how you agree with the positive points I've made but still bash Byotrol. So, a company can be worth more than what it's current revenue is. Intellectual property, patents etc. Look at Virgin Galactic. You have a $4.7 billion company which is currently making a loss and hasn't sent one customer into space yet. It's called speculation. What's your gripe?
stt1 - "so why would the vast majority of public ignore official advice??? "
Because of panic. The public will panic buy. Anything. From face masks that won't have any effect to overstocking on bread. If it take someone to tell you that, then you shouldn't be involved with Mr Market. You obviously have an agenda otherwise.
Agree with you all. Heartbreaking to see the progress. As soon as the other financing deal was declared finished I sold as I didn’t want to risk losing what little I had left. I see posters making recommendations on other stock but they all seem to be mining. I’d think after this experience, mining would be the last industry to invest in. Always “over time and over budget” a friend wisely told me when I was still invested.
In case any of you are looking for a different stock, I’ve come across an AIM company called Byotrol (BYOT). They are a life sciences company specialising in long lasting and alcohol-free anti-bacterial products. Seems like the business to be in at the moment. Anyway, they have just turned a profit this year and are due to give an update on their progress with a US strategic partner come the end of March. Their share price has grown quite nicely during all this panic selling, up 91% since January 31st. Maybe take a look if you’re open to it.
Well, I'm out! Sold after today's news dropped. Was hoping something would come through but I believe that was the final straw. If Sharesoc figure something out, then there will be further dilution at which point I may buy back in. But, there will be no forcing of hands as there are no hands! I didn't vote as I'd like the mine to succeed but without CF and the current board. In my view, it'll most likely be one of two outcomes. Either way AAL win. And as far as there being 85,000 shareholders, you can count 1 less and I'm pretty sure a few thousand more.
Classic OldRascal! You're in the wrong game if you want to roll the dice! or perhaps the right one considering where we are. No point getting angry or upset if you've put in more than you can afford to lose though. LTV is correct that it's always a gamble, but there's speculation and then there's investing. One carries more risk than the other and there shouldn't be any complaining if you don't know the difference. Instead, consider this experience as an expensive education.
And just so we're clear. I 'invested' over £50k into this with an average of 15p so I'm hurting as well but I'm not going to throw cheap insults at the BoD, CF or any other user on here (only the users who have an agenda). This company was just a hole in the ground with no profits. If I tried to sell you a hole (careful lads), would you buy it?!
Casa was right. You haven’t invested. You have gambled. You’ve got too much ‘skin’ in the game if you need it saving.
OR, why sell now when there is still a chance (unlikely as it may be, but still a chance) of funding or another bid?
LTV, I’ve clearly stated there is no issue with opinions. The issue is with intentional influence. It is well documented that constant, repetitive phrases influence the opinions of others. If that wasn’t your intention, then prove me wrong and stop doing it.
Sharing an opinion is one thing. INFLUENCING through repetition and volume is another.
Jonathansxx, anyone who saw my version 1 will know it was in retaliation to IBAB and the messages that were being sent. Longterm is now doing the same. I will call out anyone who tries to subvert and influence the opinions of others.
That's fine if you are prepared to take that risk, but trying to influence others through constant subliminal messaging is not cool. For example, you posted 6 comments yesterday and 5 of them contained 'vote no' in capitals, so it is factually correct. I think the majority of posters here were/are in it for the medium to long term so you are not unique in that perspective. How about you let things play out and see where we are in 2 weeks. Let CF and the board do their best (granted it hasn't been up to the standards we expected). There is still information coming to light, so why not get a clearer picture before casting an opinion. This is business after all and this is how high level negotiating is executed.
You can say you’re not trying to influence but you clearly are. The majority of your posts contain ‘vote NO’ with the no always in capitals. You emphasise this point regularly and subconsciously it has influence. If you would just like to present just the facts instead, then that is most welcome, but signing off with a vote no every time is influential.
Because Longterm, you bark pretty loud. And if you’re going to try and influence me and everyone else how to vote, then it’s in interest of everyone what you stand to lose. If you’re not prepared to discuss those types of details, stop telling people what to do with their money and their vote. It’s hypocritical and annoying.
Longtermview24, how much have you invested in SXX and what's it's present day worth?
