Herbicide :-)
You seem to purposely forget to mention the excellent share price rise from 0.2p to 41p in the first place!
And now you don't blame Putin for its hopefully temporary collapse, even though the company is getting on with the day-to-day job!
What a funny old perspective you have on this stock ...
Enough from me, enjoy your day ....
Good morning all,
Today's hopeful is CrispySeaweed - 01/12/22
No idea if he is still invested or not?
I am feeling much better and off to join the boys for the Thursday breakfast this morning,
followed by a trip to Southend Central Museum which has a new exhibition celebrating the centenary of the foundation of Eric Cole's first radio repairing business which he started in Leigh-on-sea, before moving to bigger premises later on to a spacious new factory at Southend-on-Sea.
When the factory closed it was used by the Access credit Card Company for many years, and I did work providing leased lines for them in my day job.
I never knew much about the history of ECHO though, and this came from researching an old Flurosent light fitting I took down in the garage and found it was made by Ekco-Ensign Electric Ltd,
Google led me to find this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EKCO
Most people will recognise the name ECHO as it was on most radios or TVs in the 1960s employing some 8000 employees at one time.
Good Luck to all the LTH
Cheers.
Afternoon Portsmouth (Colin),
So sorry to hear you have had enough, but can fully understand your position.
This used to be a great stock to hold and we all wanted to be there at the finishing line (party)
Putin put an end to that dream or at least a long delay!
All the best my friend
Stay well, and good luck in the future with your investments,
Kindest regards
Ian
Afternoon Mr Wolf,
wrong as usual I see, but kind of you to enquire about my op..
I think it did go well but I will know more after the pathology lab has done its thing on what they removed.
I was in so much pain when trying to eat after, I could only eat when the painkillers were in full effect as swallowing would make me climb the wall in agony, it was like swallowing razor blades, an unfortunate side effect from the op that also gave trauma to my Uvula as well which had grown in length and was causing me to gag all the time...
Sleep deprivation was typical as I was on so many painkillers that I could only take them every six hours in case of liver damage, and the soothing effect from them only lasted up to three hours, so three hours in pain till the next dose!
Luckily now over the worst, and yesterday, I did make it for my first Thursday breakfast since the op on the 7th Nov,
Now managing to sleep through till 5 am and not 1 am as in most of last week,
My Uvula now shrunk back to a more normal length and no more gagging,
Only requiring painkillers for the bone pain as swallowing is back to pain-free :-)
Just a mouth full of stitches that should start to dissolve soon.....
No, I have only ever had one moniker, and that is Ian_...
Unlike you Mr Wolf, I have ever only needed the one moniker :-)
I hope you are keeping well old friend,
Cheers.
Morning Pete,
I arrived at the hospital at 7 am and after the application of DVT stockings etc I was the first on the list into the operating theatre at 9:00 am,
I was joking with the anaesthesia nurse "was this the operating theatre where they found the dead pigeon"
Oh, you heard about that she exclaimed.
It was on the front page of the Echo I said ...
https://chof360.com/southend-hospital-operating-theatre-closes-for-dead-pigeon/
This operating theatre was not the one involved she reassured me, anyway I knew it had been deep cleaned after the discovery but I was just making small talk before I fell asleep...
In the recovery ward, I awoke just before 11 am,
I enquired how long was I in the operating theatre.
1.5 hours she replied...
So quite a big operation then to take that long!
Back in my ward, I was offered a drink and a soft yoghurt to eat,
I recovered very well and was discharged just after 3 pm, it took a long time for my course of strong antibiotics to be issued by the hospital dispensary.
Back home and on paracetamol, I was quite comfy and fancied some soft food, I found a lasagna and thought that would go down well,
They removed my rearmost molar and drilled a 10mm hole through my jawbone for access, and I have an incision for about 30mm in the gum leading back to where my impacted wisdom teeth might have been.
My mouth has lots of stitches and looks quite neat with so far only a small amount of swelling, the cyst has been sent off to pathology and I have no numbness and full use of my tongue which is the best outcome I could have wished for..
On trying to eat I winced in pain on swallowing, having a look in that area at the back of my throat revealed a bloody area on my uvula, the fleshy, teardrop-shaped piece of tissue in the back of my throat was swollen and had a small cut on it, but boy was it painful to swallow, it will get better by the day and is just a casualty of the operation...
Slept very well and am so glad that is over, I have no fear of operations in general, but this one was for something that caused me no apparent symptoms but just showed up on a dental checkup X-ray that they do now and again, had it caused me any pain I could have had it removed before it grew so large, but it did not cause any pain at all, so I never knew there was a problem until it was too late for a minor operation....
Thank you all for your kind get-well wishes the other day and I'm now well on the mend, might be some time before I can eat crisps though :-)
Kind regards to all
Cheers
Ian
Good morning all,
SaxonAxe recently requested today's date, so I could not let a long-termer down, good luck matey :-)

Thanks for the kind words from Newbie642 (Pete) & RailwayPete regarding my upcoming operation this Monday, it is what it is, something that has to be done to stop this (Whatever it is) from eating its way through my lower jaw bone!
It has caused me no pain, and only showed up on a routine dental X-ray, after much debate and CT scans by Dental surgeons they are in agreement it has to go, and the only way they can get to it is via the removal of teeth and drilling down into the lower jaw bone and then with the use of an endoscope try and scrape away the affected area, that by now is nearly an inch long...yuck!
Went for our monthly Old Retires Curry Night yesterday and at another table was a group of five chaps, some of who looked very familiar, after some time and listening to their voices worked out that they were old-school mates from over 50 years ago,
I went and introduced myself, they were pleased to see me and related the tails of all those that had sadly passed away,
one chap Louis recalled the time I electrified the door handle to our classroom to stop Mr Birch, our history teacher, from entering....
The door was glass top and bottom and all us pupils were sitting looking like angels and making NO sound at all so the teacher knew something was up, he could see the wire attached to the inside door handle and could see the induction coil buzzing away on the floor, he tried the door handle but was unable to keep a grip to turn the brass bulb.
Being a good sport and because we were all sitting quietly he said I will return,
He came back wearing wellington boots and a pair of rubber gloves and of course, gained entry, no harm would have been caused as he was as fit as a fiddle, and the current was very low, he used to challenge boys to punch him in the stomach as he was so strong and fit, a real good sport who used to tell great stories to entertain the boys if good in class, he lived well into his 90s and was very well-liked.
( And NO, I did not get into trouble, as I say, he was a good sport :-)
But the story is a legend, I used to get called forward by the headmaster after morning assembly, and the rest of the school would whisper, swish, swish, thinking I was for the cane!
They were wrong,
The headmaster knowing of my practical electro-mechanical skills needed the kitchen potato peeler looking at one time, another time he wanted an intercom set up between his office and the deputy, I even used to service the gym master's old Ford Prefect, which would, of course, would entail a test drive around the school playing field, waving to those made to run so many lengths of the football pitch :-)
I fixed the 16mm sound projector's valve amplifier, and was always called on to do the music for the school open days!
The good old days :-)

Still here, still invested,
I had a nice breakfast meet-up today at the Westcliff Hotel with the old boys,
The rain this morning was relentless,
The rain was coming in through the conservatory roof of the hotel, and dripping onto the armchairs, the kitchen staff were tiptoeing through puddles on the kitchen floor as the rain was coming in through the kitchen roof!
It's an old hotel and in need of a good revamp, built back in 1889, I believe...
Good luck to all invested in EUA and especially to the long-termers here, you know who you are :-)
Good morning all,
Still here and still invested,
Disappointed that some small-minded posters think that just because I'm one of the longer-term posters on EUA and have highlighted the past good points of holding this stock I'm part of a cartel :-)
I was just excited as so many of the long-term holders were in the great share price rise from 0.2p to 42p, we thought it would go higher, and 50p would have been a great price point to sell some...
We wanted to be here for the sale, not realising it would take so long, we thought things were more advanced than they were!
The price point where YOU buy or sell a stock is YOUR responsibility, not to blame others for YOUR greed if things don't work out as anticipated,
Putin stuck the knife into this good stock, and the company are keeping their heads down in this current climate awaiting for things to improve, still carrying on with the day job and installing electric draglines to increase production.
Am I disappointed I did not retrospectively sell some of my shareholdings at 40p, you bet !!!
Nothing I can do now, and it was nobody's fault but mine as I never expected Putin to single-handedly kill off investment in his country and set it back 30 years...
If still invested we are where we are, and can only wait for things to hopefully improve however long that takes...
Today is the birthday of :-

Arsenalles - 27/10/22 - Happy 64th Birthday! ( you didn't know I knew :-)

Off Topic!
Still go for a Thursday breakfast with the old retirees and a fortnight ago on Friday I did not go to the loo as normal, nor Saturday, my stomach swelled up and gurgled away with awful stomach cramps and me being sick.
Went down to Southend A&E Sunday morning at 7 am and they diagnosed a strangulated hernia, operated Sunday night and was discharged two days later. Super NHS service, I was lucky the blood supply to the affected gut was not cut off and they did not need to carry out any major gut surgery, just a hernia repair operation that had failed after 30 years..
On the 7th of November, I go under the knife for this thing that has shown up in my lower jaw, the plan is to remove my lower 7th molar, drill down into the jawbone and with the use of an endoscope scrape out this 2cm x 1cm cyst thing that has caused me NO pain and just showed up on a 6-month inspection Xray....
It is currently eating its way through my lower jawbone, and if not removed will likely cause my jaw to break in half, so have to endure major surgery for something that is miraculously causing me no current pain.... it will after the operation I'm sure!
At least I will be out for the count and not just under a local anaesthetic...
I have suffered a lot of ill health over the last few years, getting old is no fun, you think retirement will be fun ...
Good luck to all the long-term holders s
Good morning all, anything to oblige :-)
Today,s hopefuls are:-
HotShot69 - 30/09/22
And also hopeful for a late-in-the-day RNS are
Seasick,
JamesB1,
Good luck everyone.
Off-Topic!
I bought myself a car scissor lifting stage that you drive over and it lifts the car via rubber blocks that you place under the car sill jacking points, the hydraulic lifting platform lifts the car up to 1.2m so you can work on it with ease, no trolly jacks or car ramps, and no crawling around on your back .... now you can sit on a small stool and fix things with ease.
It comes with its own transport wheels so you can move it around and keep it in the garage, then when you want to use it, wheel it out onto the drive.
It has drop-down ramp flaps at each end and is only 100mm high so you can just park up on top of it when not in use.
Lifts up to about 4Ton and you can work with all four wheels off the car and work without stooping and grovelling on the floor, should have got one years ago!
This is a video showing one in operation, the one I purchased lifts 200mm more than this one which I thought would be an advantage, and is from a different manufacturer, but you get the idea!

Just ignore if not interested,
Cheers and good luck everyone.
Morning Pompeyrod,
Still here, and still invested, just taking a back seat while Pootin does his best to cause havoc!
The Thursday breakfast meets are still on every week as usual,
My worst fears have come true, this "growth" in my lower jaw bone needs to be operated on as a 3D MRI has confirmed it is still growing and eating through my jawbone! Great!
The surgeon hopes he can get access to it by removing my good L7 tooth, drilling down through my jaw bone, and with the help of an endoscope and using a scraper remove this 2cm x 1cm thing!
He doesn't think it is related to my cancer history, just one of those things.
I asked if this would be done under a local or general anaesthetic, the good news is it will be done under a general anaesthetic in a hospital, probably around the end of the year, so something to look forward to :-) .... NOT!
I did see your lovely write-up the other day and also wish things were back to those nice old days.
As Murzy has pointed out, my namesake is causing havoc in Florida :-)
Good luck everyone, and do say safe,
Getting old is no fun .....
Cheers
Ian
A very, very, sad day today ....
Give the infighting a rest for today, there is something very close to our hearts to witness live if you are lucky enough, or watch it on TV, the funeral of our great monarch Queen Elizabeth II who reigned for over 70 years, the longest reign of a monarch in British history, a very sombre day to witness after losing Her Majesty who has been present for all my life...
Enough from me, RIP your majesty.
Good evening Ohmni,
So sorry to hear of your health issues of late, and I wish you a speedy recovery!
Lots of us here have suffered health issues over the last three years, but most of us are getting on in years so expect things to rear their head, you are relatively young so you are just very unlucky, get well soon matey.
Lenoman, is a long-term EUA holder who has fought the good fight against those who are just constantly negative about EUA, and who never provide anything to back up their argument, he is well-liked amongst the long-term holders, having a low average because he has been invested in EUA for about seven years ....
He has never suggested the share price that Mr_Wolf has put forward .... Only a hopeful £1.35 has he ever suggested in the "Guess the share price game"

This Personal Putin war to invade Ukraine has destroyed the fun here, and is killing the lives of the Ukraine people, increasing energy costs for those in Europe, and world wide food shortages...
I'm still invested in EUA, but like many, utterly demoralised by Putin's actions that have in one fell swoop undone all the good work done by his predecessor Mikhail Gorbachev, who tried to open up Russia to Europe, and has put it back 30 years...
No one expected this outcome...
Good luck and health to those LTH still here but lurking in the shadows at the moment, no one can blame you, as no one knows how this will turn out, or how long for it to run its course,
I will still be seeing the Thursday boys for breakfast tomorrow, so that will be nice,
Still invested, demoralised, and saddened by what has happened in such a short timeframe....
Have a lovely evening everyone, and good luck to Ohmni for the future,
Cheers.
Joke Time, while we wait ....
A young family moved into a house next door to an empty plot. One day, a gang of building workers turned up to start building on the plot.
The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and started talking with the workers.
She hung around and eventually the builders, all with hearts of gold, more or less adopted the little girl as a sort of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had tea and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.
They even gave the child her very own hard hat and gloves, which thrilled her immensely.
At the end of the first week, the smiling builders presented her with a pay envelope - containing two pounds in 10p coins. The little girl took her 'pay' home to her mother who suggested that they take the money to the bank the next day to open a savings account.
At the bank, the female cashier was tickled pink listening to the little girl telling her about her 'work' on the building site and the fact she had a 'pay packet'.
'You must have worked very hard to earn all this', said the cashier.
The little girl proudly replied, 'Yes, I worked every day with Steve and Wayne and Mike. We're building a big house.'
'My goodness gracious,' said the cashier, 'And will you be working on the house again next week?'
The child thought for a moment. Then she said seriously:
'I think so. Provided those ******s at Jewsons deliver the f*cking bricks.
After 56 years, we win over Germany, well done England Lioness's
And Chloe Kelly was just great to watch!!
Well done team England,
Just great football to watch, they are so agile on their feet!
I will be having a drink to celebrate this fantastic win.
Have a grat evening all,
Cheers.
Good morning all,
My mates and I all had a lovely day yesterday visiting the 'Red Sands Forts' and the wreck of the 'SS Richard Montgomery' off the Sheerness coast, the weather was fantastic, we will have to plan some more trips out!
As its the weekend here is a joke I saw on the 'Pistonheads' forum, and yes, I have spelt that right :-)
A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas , walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."
The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona , the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in Texas , we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.
"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."
"Hasn't affected my brothers though."
Have a great weekend everyone,
Cheers.
