No doubt they would be unhappy to pay! Not sure myself what my point is; I guess I'm just overwhelmed by there being some stimulating posts on here, it's been a lot of noise for weeks now. My interpretation is that the lost earnings recovery is an additional discouragement to changing laws. It's also probably a super capitalist thing such that if the government makes an 'error' and devalues an opportunity to profit they have to payout from the taxpayers purse into the profits of the company. So no net loss of profits. I guess I can see why there are plenty of unhappy left wing/environmental pressure groups writing about it....well I'm assuming, I've only seen that one report summarising some.... Just for the avoidance of doubt - there's still no point to my post.

The problem with your final paragraph is that, that is the deal they signed up to, like any trade agreement. Then if you break the terms you should expect consequences. In this case the consequences are set out in a way which makes it very difficult to not pay out what the arbitration requires. Finally, Italy signed this so it's own companies could be protected around the world from governments pulling the rug out from under their investments.

Ralph I think the assumption about the seizure threat is that it just forces payment. It'd be way too much trouble for Italy to start losing its assets in the UK, and probably more expensive to buy back said assets. So they'd just pay up in all likelihood.

Don't forget RKH only paid a bit less than £30m for the company which owned the Italian assets. redon - are you taking into account Capex in your calculations? And tax etc? I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's >£30m and incredibly happy if it's >£100m.

Otherwise, maybe just an RNS saying we're starting something would be a good kick to get people to focus on ECHO again. Things are probably feeling a bit twitchy with the PoO change and world events being a bit 'chaotic' to say the least...

That's good info from those who spoke to Dr Trice. I'm interested, as Carmaybe and others have mentioned, in what happened during the attempted/partial/complete hookup. They're being a bit cute about that as that's the more interesting speculation. We knew there wasn't an issue as there was no RNS, what is interesting is the story of the try...was it just the weather turned too quickly, a 50:50 punt, got some checks done so we don't have to do them again? I suppose not really material, hence I think its a bit cute that nothing was said...

Mushroom, Glad to hear you've broken even, that's a relief. I have not yet, but am not that heavily invested. Regarding sleep loss...I'm not excitedly anticipating anything yet. By my tracking we're expecting an RNS on the start of the stimulation programme and on the start of the Tapi Aike seismic. Both of which will then take some time to yield a RNS with news which is material to the share price. The nearest being RNS + 4 weeks (not sure if that's correct) for the stimulation programme results.

So are we saying the T/O price is 45p? Or is there an x% chance of a takeover happening at a price of >45p?

jw61, Talos' is a separate appriasal. See PMO RNS 7494 on 7/12/2018. PMO are expecting to reach the reservoir early in the New Year. This is also on Zama-2 (the first of two in Block 7) and it was spudded on 29/11/2018. Therefore, expecting a 50-60 day drilling campaign makes the results available mid-late Jan 2019.

I think the years decades question depends a lot on interest rates. It's cheap money that allowed that bubble to happen.

Urraca, I think someone already emntioned it here, the applies to a forced takeover when the buying company reached a share % threshold. This is a negotiated buyout with a price which would be voted on by shareholders with a board recommendation to accept or reject.
