That is a shaky premise...it's true in the long run. In the short run however, the market maker is buying/selling the shares on one side of the trade and are obliged to hold a certain number/proportion and offer a certain spread (depending on the market). They adjust priced depending on what's going on in the market.

SIPP, how did you get on at Machu Picchu? I for one am dreaming about connection this week...maybe the chopper is for the rope, waiting for a full set but they'll go with what they have? The weather window has looked better and better as it has got closer, and now is just about the best we've seen. If the rope is available they'd be silly not to try. Time will tell...

Ralph, you missed the article in the guardian about Ban Ki Moo writing a letter criticising the UK govt export finance being used for fossil fuel investments as it conflicts with carbon reduction goals. He seemed a bit deluded to me, surely he hasn't forgotten about how the market generally works!?

Ok thanks for that both. What attracted me to the share (although not invested at the mo) was £75m mcap, £13m cash and 8000bpd production already, $33 breakeven...and after that a landmark year for the Sebou wells. I'm thinking the 8000bpd number is not correct though. Any further help would be appreciated.

Escargot, You might be right about the lack of rope. I just checked the RNS and I was wrong, it says returning to Cromarty to await delivery of a new pull-in rope. It also says an RNS will be issued when hook-up is completed, meaning no dull yet significant RNS expected on the delivery of a rope. I suppose I'm just optimistic that a rope surely can't take this long, or if there was a decent weather window they'd expedite it, after all it's £500k/d missed revenue opportunity for each extra day...I'm guessing that number would soon get you a few next day delivery rope purchases (before anyone says, I know it's not as simple as that but you get the picture).

I thought we were waiting for a good weather window. We haven't had a decent one since the rope failure; I'd assumed a new rope had been delivered by now and won't be the reason for missing any weather windows, as per the RNS.

I think 20-22 days was a quote from an energy voice article on 8/01/2019, but that's from the author of the article not a quote from Hurricane.

SIPP, best of luck with the weather. One of the most memorable moments in my life was sitting on the outside of MP as the fog was burnt off the hills by the morning sun revealing the ruins. I'm sure you'll take some great pic with your photography skills, and keep an eye out - there are plenty of bird there, some might be up for posing for a photograph!

Hi all - I'm very appreciative of the thoughts on the arbitration. Has anyone found a website which gives any clue to the court dates, officially? I can't get my head around there being nowhere it's published, but I guess that's the nature of the arbitration - essentially it's an agreed process with a neutral arbiter rather than a full on court case.

Before the RNS on the 21st Jan the AM had been spotted in on and around the buoy location by ship watchers. It was at the time thought a possibility that a hookup was either attempted or a dry run was undertaken. There was no confirmation as to what happened on that occasion - presumably no attempt as there was no RNS.

It's approx £0.5m/d profit or £1m/d revenue. That's assuming 20,000bpd, $30/b opex $60/b revenue.
