Very fair points SASA, it was more luck then judgement for RRE. There's a decent chance that something similar could happen here, deals have done SQZ well so far so they seem to have a knack for it. I'm in both as I like this sphere or running down late life fields as cheap as possible, it's a good niche! I'm hoping for 20 if the deal all goes through, then I'll wait a bit and take enough out to just leave in profit. I think the risk of decommissioning costs is my biggest fear, it's easy to get carried away looking at cash flow and ignore the building risk. I'd do the same here though if it happened similarly. In the mean time I'm happy to see the cash in the bank increase as time passed! I'll have to read through the AGM material now and have a think, thanks for the comments - much appreciated

RRE are quite similar to SQZ but have more oil. I think also their assets are closer to expiry than SQZ's. Both seem to have a not increasingly active drilling plan - the focus seems to be reducing OPEX and therefore prolonging field life. I'm in there (and here) but want to see the prospectus to re-evaluate, as Im struggling to evaluate the combined entity. I like SQZ similarly though and they could get suspended too if we make an acquisition which is quite possible. Finally NI has been posting his doom and gloom ever since I've been here and I haven't seen any correlation with the share price. If anything I'm in the blue, marginally! Let's hope for an interesting AGM tomorrow, I'm looking forward to the update

I just had a go at comparing GENL's buy trades today (and yesterday) to what ADVFN flags it as (buy or sell) to get a measure of accuracy. Unfortunately I can't export the ADVFN data as it loads as embedded Java and you can't copy|paste the data. If anyone could store a copy somewhere for me, assuming you can get it if you have paid for access, I'd happily do the lookups and report back on the accuracy. All I did find is that, by looking at the LSE data, the GENL trades are reported as Trade type = Automatic trade and Trade flags = ALGO. I guess that's normal but I wasn't expecting an ALGO for some reason!

If it sounds like a bubble, looks like one and smells like one it probably is one! That said, I do hold back a bit in my criticism. It's been such a long period of investment and in an industry that is quite straightforward to understand how profit is made that I just can't believe investors and banks are just potentially throwing money away inti these companies... Still, the numbers from that article look quite shocking. I think the overall outcome will be similar whether some companies crash and burn or have a soft landing at lower production levels. I believe we've reached the high point...but all is uncertain so DYOR!

I dare say they do both. I do wonder how they agree their fees and criteria for success, especially when the market cannot be completely controlled. Yes short term prices can move up and down by one with deep enough pockets but at the end of the day if the order is large enough then the price will have to increase. I'd feel a lot more comfortable now if I'd bought at 1.2p than I felt pre-West Newton at 0.5-0.7p. Well done for getting through the lows and holding it together those who have. I've been burned by ECHO so I decided for low market caps I'd only put in my profit and not invest a significant amount as a total. It's just so risky...now though in comfortable and will ride it through. To confirm I reread the RNSs and there's a quote saying well tests in the next few weeks as well as saying Q3. What are people expecting? RNS with flow rates in a few weeks (+plan for any early production which was mentioned in the RNS) with full asset review in Q3 with any increase in the Boe extractable!?

That's true it could get there again. I would just be a bit annoyed if PoO went sub-60, even if only temporarily, at the point we relist! Back to waiting, it's far from the worst thing I've ever waited for. It should be good anyway it's just a matter of how good :)

rodster, that's very bold if true, and for taking that huge risk I guess you earned that £50k. If you can afford to lose that much I can't really understand why you aren't just enjoying the wealth you have! Each to their own though and I hope we can all continue to gain together

I wonder how much cash we have now... I'm still optimistic the prospectus will be in July, at least that is in H2 so within guidance. It's hard to be patient with oil prices all over the place, I feel like my forecast MC was much higher when oil was 70 but I'd really like to see the prospectus to make a full assessment as so much time has passed.

I feel your pain Withoutt I'm in the same position, I have ECHO and SDX too...although I do also have RRE. Let's hope for somekind of karma re-rate soon and our past sins are forgiven! Hoping for higher oil prices too, if not now then over the next 6 months....plenty of things will happen over that period + and - for PoO sentiment.

If we're noticing things like that and are trying to read into it then it says to me one thing...there's nothing happening and we're a bit concerned about when something might happen either bad soon or some good (SD) encountering problems/delays. That's what I'm worrying about anyway...

Have you got a link for the 7 months quote, I'd be interested to see the evidence? I'd heard similar but can't remember from where and what it was based on. The only basis I have is about production dropping off like a stone within the first 12 months or so for new shale wells, there's lots of data around to show that's true. Also, about the proportion of DUCs which won't go into production unless there are higher prices or ever - do you have any data to support that? I agree with the principal, just don't know if it'd be 10% or 90%...in included to guess higher, as otherwise they'd be producing already. On the other side of the coin market-wise - it seems tariffs are off the table between the USA and Mexico, and both parties seem happy.
