I see the FCA is talking about a crackdown on lunatics/malfeasants on message boards relating to AIM stocks as there is a feeling that the vitriolic abuse handed out may be a factor in firms' reluctance to list. They really should start with the relentless rampers who close every opportunity for a sensible discussion down.

Well, that's a bit selective, give n what it says is copied below. I don't really care what the candlesticks are telling the rune readers. We all know that there is a possibility that the partnership with the S&P 5 00 company is a potential game changer and that some sort of news on that front may not be too far away. If that partnership comes to fruition and delivers then that will put a rocket under the shares. For that rocket to be lit we need real news, not mysticism.

I've no idea and less interest as to whether this blurb has been posted by CN. I do know that he breaks the rules of this site more or less daily and that the people who operate it aren't remotely interested. I would call them moderators but they simply don't perform that role.

There are multiple reasons why a shorter might exit their position that aren't necessarily an acknowledgement that the company is in a good place - a liquidity need elsewhere for example.

It's a lost cause JAG. The man is incapable of debate. Numerous people on here have asked him to point out anything they have ever said that is fake and he's never been able to because they haven't. Meanwhile he's accused multiple posters of lying when they have pointed out that stuff he has said can't possibly be true and that has often been the case, NiftyLift would be one obvious example but there are loads and loads of them, including the nonsense about deals being more or loess certain 28 days after a director deal. Again, and again and again.

In the meantime if the little spike today is an indicator of some news coming then chances are that you'll me celebrating because I am a very long term holder with a pretty substantial shareholding and I would love to get a return on it. That doesn't mean I remain gullible enough to believe everything that is said - but clearly I am a bit gullible otherwise I wouldn't be a very long term shareholder with the holding that I have!

It really puzzles me that the resident ramper is so scared of having a sensible conversation. There's nothing I've said here that is negative at all - it's just sating that costs matter and that is self-evidently true; it simply can't be any other way!

I'm absolutely sure that there are factors other than costs that matter but no business can operate for any period of time incurring unsustainable costs - that's just basic stuff.

Two key elements.

Firstly, we are not the only sustainable game in town and competition is only going to increase. No CFO is going to look at competing suppliers and disregard cost! We have had apparent first mover advantage several times but still await our first genuinely commercial deal and it's blindingly obvious that costs have contributed to that situation.

Secondly. If cost doesn't matter then why are we in the process of re-engineering cells to reduce their cost (and have effectively taken them off sale until that has been achieved)?

Absolute madness.

We know that our products work. We have evidence from Extreme E, Extreme H, Balfour Beatty, Tamgo, Speedy and many others who have trialled but not bought that functionality is not a problem - cost very much is, and has been!

One just reads this thread and finds the head shaking involuntarily. So many reasons why it is spectacularly unlikely to be AFC. And then the the refusal to actually analyse quotes rather than just accept them as unalloyed fact.

How can it be AFC? They couldn't be materially involved in a project at that scale without an announcement

Working on several is fine, Stefan, as long as more come through than not. I do wish that Rendall hadn't followed the Bond route when claiming that they were on the shelves and ready to go a year ago - because the fact that none have been sold yet represents another extension to the credibility gap.

Yes, exactly Daz. When the project was announced it was said that certain milestones needed to be hit. We've never really had a clue about what they are, how many of them there are and what the granular timescale would be - but good news that the project seems to be progressing along the anticipated lines. A fair way to go yet though. But no hint of news (good, bad or indifferent) on the hoped for additional relationship

We've got used to trading updates being accompanied by an Investor Meets gathering over the last couple of years, but doesn't appear to be the case this time round.

That's not really a surprise given the timescales that we are aware on both fuel cells and cracker progress. There is one disappointment, however, in that at the last such presentation there was 'news' that we were some way down the line in negotiations with another major potential partner, but nothing on that front since that event which was almost four months ago.
