Well, that's the issue. It is totally healthy to debate, especially when there are huge possibilities but few certainties.

Unfortunately some posters, CN in particular obviously, have convinced themselves (and try to convince others) that anyone who wants to debate/doesn't take every single thing at face value is a shorter. That is an idiotic position - taking things at face value over many years is why so many people are invested here and are under water.

Debate is good, debate is healthy. Shutting it down isn't.

They were never going to deploy one of Bond's solid gold, diamond encrusted versions. We'll find out if there is any future in the relationship when the new versions are commercially available.

The fact is that people, you included, present things that aren't facts as facts. Pointing out that things presented as facts aren't actually facts is in fact a good thing, and that's a fact. Having a debate about things presented as facts that aren't facts on the basis that those alleged facts may or not become facts over time is healthy and positive. It's definitely a fact that questioning whether those alleged facts are in fact facts is a healthy way of dividing fact from fiction and as any sane investor knows investing on facts that aren't facts as if they were facts is in fact - foolish.

If and when more cash is needed I'd say the likeliest source would be the cracker partner taking a stake. That's no guarantee of success (see ABB) but it would be a positive at that stage if that's what happens, even though it would represent a dilution for existing shareholders.

Whereas his and his team's job was (probably naively) to provide dispassionate analysis and assessment. Not to just swallow everything Bond said. It would have taken one question - how much doe s a unit cost to produce?

That's a good timescale - obviously its usage would be shorter than that of it wasn't delivering what was needed. It is clearly a relationship with considerable potential so let's hope it can be extended into a new world of genuine commerciality

What equipment is it that they are using? Presumably the old cells supplied via Speedy? Can't be the recently announced, much more cost efficient version as they aren't certified yet.

Any indication that their use has been going on long enough that there will be some cashflow in the soon to be announced results?

And similar points that, you know, are actually interesting and meaningful for shareholders.

When you post this sort of link, Kenny, you are posting useful and (ironically) constructive information that in a rational world would lead to a sane and balances debate about he significance of it to AFC and its shareholders. Yet, as usual, it is followed by a stream of silly invective about shorters which is of no value to anybody and therefore reduces the likelihood of that debate actually taking place. Very odd behaviour, but at least its consistent so we know what to expect.

There are legions f examples - so let's just look at one; Niftylift.

It was blindingly obvious to anyone applying any of the above techniques to the situation that the relationship was dead in the water - yet there you were calling everyone who pointed that out a shorter and worse. Your 'defence' was and is that there was a picture of Nifty equipment in an AFC publication yet you were wrong and, literally, everyone else was right.

That's because we can assess rather than just swallow stuff whole. It does not make us shorters, bashers, trolls etc.

I'm going to shock myself here, Daz, but I actually agree with Ade here - there is indeed a first time for everything.

Anyone who has ever been involved with producing a long term budget knows that they are, at best, educated guesses. And in respect if a company that is yet to make any commercial sales the chances of such guesses being well educated enough to be anywhere near accurate over, say, a 3-5 year time period are remote, again at best.

I'd rather that the limited time available is spent conveying fact and near fact rather than more pie in the skyness that isn't really based on reality.

I expect approval as well. but given the history I do not regard orders (when they come) as firm if they have conditions attached to them. Too badly bitten by Bond's mythical order book. An order, for me, is a contractual obligation to buy the product/service.
