Thank you for a balanced response Ivenoidea. Whilst I’m happy of Kodals achievements, I do feel like this has been my worst investment from a £ perspective.

Someone mentioned yesterday that because KOD doesn’t need any funding for a bit, they don’t prioritise SP. Maybe BA’s payment package could be reworked to include payment in shares upon achieving certain SP targets to align his interests closer to those of investors.

On November 30, local time, the first shipment of lithium concentrate from the Bougouni Lithium Mine completed loading and officially set sail from the Port of San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire. This batch, totaling 28,950 tons, is expected to arrive at Hainan Yangpu Port in early to mid-January 2026, providing core raw materials for Hainan Mining’s lithium salt processing project.

Recently, the operational focus of the Bougouni Lithium Mine has been transporting over 30,000 tons of lithium concentrate from Bougouni in southern Mali to dedicated storage facilities at the Port of San Pedro, covering a total distance of approximately 880 kilometers. The successful completion of this transportation operation, followed by vessel loading and departure, has fully validated the feasibility and efficiency of this logistics route.

To date, the Phase I Heavy Media Separation (DMS) plant of the Bougouni project has produced over 45,000 tons of lithium concentrate, with an average lithium oxide grade of 5.39%. Preparations for subsequent shipments are also underway.

My comment comes from experience, not prejudice.

Map, no one is disagreeing with the size of their economy. But India is not ready for DMS. The only rule that's being followed is whether a traffic light is red or green.

Kodal has agreed a contract with a multi-jurisdictional freight services company to handle the storage and load out of product at the ports.

Kodal has 40,000 tonnes of storage capacity at the preferred port of San Pedro, providing adequate storage capacity to allow a continuous stream of lithium spodumene export from Bougouni to ports ahead of shipping.

Hainan Mining is arranging the ships that will transport the lithium spodumene to its lithium hydroxide plant in China, and also has full responsibility for the vessel costs.

The shipping route to China takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Kodal Minerals CEO Bernard Aylward said that the sale price of its concentrates will reflect “the significant improvement in the lithium pricing environment” in recent weeks.

“The final sale price for the lithium spodumene product will be adjusted to account for the actual grade and quality of product delivered and deducting the cost of sea freight,” he said, adding that the company expects the price to exceed $930 per dry metric tonne.

After loading the first shipment, LMLB, Kodal’s Malian subsidiary, will submit an invoice to its Chinese offtake partner Hainan Mining Co. for the initial 95% of the cargo value. The company expects the payment to total $24 million, which would be the first revenue generated by LMLB.

Canaccord Genuity sees the timing of the shipment as a positive development for the company, despite the political unrest in Mali.

“Kodal is now generating revenue at a time when lithium prices are showing strong signs of recovery,” analyst Alex Bedwany said in a note published Monday.

“The Bougouni project has produced 45,000 tonnes of concentrate, implying that there is a further 16,000 tonnes to be exported in the near-term. This is tracking well against our H2 (March) revenue estimate of $65 million,” he added.

I think India needs to get drivers to follow basic driving rules before we can dream of having DMS there. Being 5/6 cars & tuktuks wide on a 3 lane motorway is an interesting experience.

Personally, I don't see the next shipment happening until the 30th/31st of Dec with the floor price being announced on the 1st of Jan

Silly question, I was under the impression that Hainan was paying for the transport from port to port. BA states that the final payment will deduct the cost of shipping. So KMUK is paying for both land & sea transport?
