The article about the whatsapp groups in particular sounds like a blog written by a 20 year old.

It's the environment we are in Golden. Growth will return once we are past this energy/inflation crisis.
For example for FY 2021, the acquisitions altogether and pro-rata were expected to add £277 million revenue, overall revenue for the year increased £570 million from £1.61 billion to £2.18 billion giving around £293 million (18.2%) growth outside of acquisitions. I believe their natural growth in normal times is 15-20%.

Can you show the calculations? You have to factor in that the acquisitions they added likely won't be achieving the growth they predicted for them in this environment.
Not necc that surprising considering Boohoo and ASOS predicting 1-2% growth and Ocado predicting revenue to fall this year.

Recommends are for info people like to see as much as they are for well thought out or funny posts Golden, so it's inevitable positive news will get the most recommends when most boards have more longs than shorts.
I would say it seems more realistic to me to have a reiteration than the kind of falls in price target from £2.50 to 50p we have seen since results but obv I am biased.

Okehurst not sure it is quite so all or nothing. It sounds like a lot of the major shareholders were not interested in bids around £1.70 - £2. So if MMs golden share expires it doesn't suddenly mean they will be bought out cheap as shareholders can reject. MM also has fairly strong support as CEO in terms of voting and even if there was ever pressure to leave that role he could still obviously continue to hold his shares.
They talk a number of times about stress-testing the balance sheet etc and it sounded like they had a lot of room for inflation to get worse etc in their calculations so I don't think it's the case we are at the mercy of whey prices in a kind of all or nothing situation.

Does seem a little suspect to describe this situation as "sudden departure", similar to the typical media fud.
Pretty sure if something as suspect as you are suggesting with the hotels had been happening the media would have been all over it by now. As MM alluded to in the call, they had a media for the last 2 years who seemed desperate to find anything sinister they could about THG but in the end they have found basically nothing. The sunday times would present the odd hit-piece "scoops" and articles that were ultimately vacuous and empty of real issues.
Even the original short seller "the analyst" who went short mostly due to ingenuity being overvalued eventually withdrew that short recommendation at £2 and said the beauty and nutrition divisions "appeared sound".

Canary in terms of point 3, even if recent months had been bad that would have been factored into their latest forecast for the year of 10-15% revenue growth and the EBITDA prediction.

Funny to think they bought Brighter Foods for £43 million in April 21 and Claremont Ingredients plus David Berryman for £59.5 million at the end of 2020. So just over £100 million on nutrition division suppliers in last couple of years.
Nutritions current valuation at 0.2x sales is probably only about £30/£40 million higher than this currently.

What would be the benefit of that unless they were going to do an equity raise before results were publicly posted?

Something that gives me confidence is whenever I mention these two (when having a boring conversation about my investments), particularly to women is not only have they heard of these two but they say things like "oh yeah they've great" and how everyone in there office uses them etc.

Rise was slower today, feels more likely to hold (at-least in part).

Coz they could have the segment without the large Matt M discount that currently seems to be being applied to the segments.

I don't see why the market seems to fear whether THG can make a profit when that becomes their main focus. With online nutrition and beauty at scale this would seem to be a sure thing. Their losses are narrowing in a business environment where John Lewis just reported a £100 million loss for the 6 month period.
From the call they seem to be fairly focussed in terms of available cash verses capex plans. Now its just back to following the macro trend and the odd fud article.

Yeah that makes sense Cantona...thought the 600 million being undrawn would be a bit too good to be true.

Golden whatever their beliefs are about ingenuity's potential it will have been factored into their cash-flow neutral calculations.
Obviously you might wonder if they are being too optimistic with this segment but I don't think you can assume the cash-flow neutral aim in 23 won't happen just because the ingenuity forecasts were not made obvious in this update.

Golden I agree results were disappointing but do you not think it's a bit strange it wasn't priced in?
I mean THG will likely finish the year with the same overall revenue as Ocado plus more EBITDA and closer to cash flow positive than Ocado, yet we end the day with a market cap of £499 million whereas Ocado finishes 4.3% up with a £5.36 billion market cap.
Why is THG valued 10 times lower? Ocado has more fixed revenues but that doesn't seem to be helping them.
We also shouldn't be valued below Boohoo.

Pretty sure he daily works at the HQ...he also has kids at school age so would be very surprised if he wasn't based in Manchester.

Some were bashing the new appointments, partly because Dean More is on the cineworld board. It doesn't seem that relevant though, more relevant is whether they are trusted and respected in the city. I would imagine at-least more so than Andreas Hansson. Obviously Zillah was respected but there was always the sense she didn't have the time to properly do the job due to being Future CEO.
