RE: THG spikes on market talk BlackRock stopped selling27 Jan 2022 00:52
Alastair Osbourne in the Times mentions MM's mum for the second time in 3 days...the obsession with THG continues!
"Larry Fink is famous for his letters. So the BlackRock boss can hardly moan if he gets one back. Who from? Matt Moulding’s irate mum, of course. She must have spotted the latest “market chatter” on Reuters: that BlackRock has “finally finished” selling shares in her little’un’s Hut. The result? THG shares up 8.5 per cent to 129.9p.
BlackRock stayed shtum. But, having first bought into the Hut a decade ago, it showed its stock picking nous at September’s 2020’s float, spending £300 million for a shedload more at 500p. It emerged with a 15 per cent stake, since cut to below the disclosable 5 per cent level. Moulding keeps whingeing about short-sellers. But isn’t long funds selling his key problem? They don’t seem to love him much either — at least compared to his mum."
