Ford what do you mean the silence is deafening, they previously said they were not aware of any reason for the share price fall, MM has said he believed it was due to shorts below the 0.5% level and later hinted at even taking it private (perhaps an empty threat but who knows). Then they released their results which showed growth that exceeded what they aimed for at IPO.
So in what way is "silence deafening", everyone told MM to shut up before now you want them to talk more.

People are only criticizing management based on the share price movements, if management had behaved in exactly the same way but sp had gone back up to £3.50 or £4 everyone here would be saying how management had handled this well. There's only so much they can do to effect the share price in the short term.
While I would agree the capital markets presentation was not great, the subsequent two update webcasts were good, also lots of analysts have said they moving in the right direction - liberum said "disclosure was excellent".

I agree Oxford, though I still wonder if at some point soon the market might decide/realize? that higher interest rates are by now priced in considering growth has been falling for around 5-6 months.

Jtan isn't it up to bears to explain why the sp is so low? Bulls obviously aren't going to be to explain it as they believe it should be higher, sometimes prices are "wrong" else there would be no such thing as a bargain. Most of the bears thesis seem to revolve around Matt moulding being chair and ceo and also the crime of taking his shirt off on holiday.
Even the Analyst removed the short recommendation around £1.90 and couldn't see much downside saying their beauty and nutrition divisions "appeared sound." They had previously said "could go as low as £2.60". They were sceptical on ingenuity however others such as RBC have valued it at £4.4 billion.
Barclays gave a £4 billion valuation for THG beauty. Charlotte Tilbury sold her £258 million revenue a year loss-making beauty business for £1.3 billion, so 5 times sales so this doesn't seem that far fetched.

Mando I'd be happy with either approach, going private would obviously be quicker but less money overall for pis, long term as you suggest I agree it could do very well remaining public. To me RBC giving ingenuity a £4.5 billion valuation gave more credence to the soft-bank valuation. Add to this you have Barclays giving THG beauty a tentative £4 billion valuation in September. I still wonder if they should try and dual list with US though obviously I imagine that's lot more fees.
As people have said previously it sounded from the tone of the conversation on the Q4 webcast that softbank were still very much on board...the other Matt talking about the money they'd spent on separation workstreams and how it was going ahead of schedule "which probably leads well to Steve on the softbank deal" before Matt stops them.

At IPO as-well as the £919 million raised for the company, the shareholders raised £961m by selling down their stakes... this means I would imagine Moulding must have a lot of wealthy contacts still or formally connected to THG if he did look to take it private again. These would be the same shareholders who would have been invested/working with Moulding when the £3.9 billion takeovers bids were rejected in 2018.

Uk growth shares seem to be mostly ignoring the US rise today and yest.

He could have sold at £2.35 3.5 weeks before and £1.85 9 days before, but you think between that time and the 26th he suddenly decided company wasn't going to get anywhere? He clearly thought it was going to go up on results at the very least, and probably that it was going to go higher than £2.35 when he was still fully in last month.

Elon Musk used to complain about shorters practically every week, MM has done like twice? Numis self-reported themselves to FCA who are now investigating, no wonder MM would be paranoid that the city is corrupt

Well what was the catalyst for the sell off?

As I mentioned previously, if you consider the £4 billion valuation of THG beauty Barclays gave in Sept (doesn't seem that far fetched with Charlotte TIlbury selling her £258 million revenue beauty business for £1.3 billion), then you assume softbank and RBC aren't too far out with their ingenuity valuations of £4.4 and £4.5 billion you can easily get up to a £10 billion valuation for THG with the rest. If they bought it now at double the current price they could get the whole thing for just over £3 billion. Then relist the parts in US in a few years.
Remember they were rejecting £3.9 billion takeover bids back in 2018 and that was before they raised all that money at ipo and post-ipo for further acquisitions.
