Clueless I do not believe canmax did try to walk away, they tried to play hardball with a new deal and GR played hardball back with the FM.

If they wanted to walk away they could have easily done so - but they chose not too and came back to the table for talks.

They want the spodumene, which is why I am still hopeful that they will still help prem out of this situation. The only question is at what cost IMHO

If you are buying the whole company, you are buying the whole company regardless of how many shares are in issue, dilution has no effect

if you are buying a % to get a share majority / trigger hostile takeover possibilities - the number of share in issue is still irrelevant, dilution has no effect

dilution only affects you for the shares you already own - which is why on the previous dilution canmax had to buy more shares - just to remain at the same percentage - so you could argue that it could actually cost canmax MORE as they would have to buy shares just to get back to their existing % before they then start buying further to make a hostile move

if you had said the lower the SP goes the cheaper it is for canmax, you would have had a point - but such an obvious point it would not need to be stated
