I think the only real current risk for mobico is their hybrid which will need to get rolled or refinanced this year. I doubt they can simply keep it as they lose the required equity component to remain within leverage ratios. So if credit spreads continue to widen and rates price in stagflation it could have a real drag on future earnings…lower oil prices etc should actually be supportive.

I for one actually value the guy a lot tbh. While not perfect, he atleast doesn’t try to hide bad picks and is very transparent with his trades and portfolio. I guess it helps that he tends to look at many stocks that I am interested in as well

I am fairly new to this share but was wondering if their annual divi yield is really just 1.2%…if so would you know why it is so low compared to other retailers? Thank you

When you look at the half year results it states that German revenues were down 12.5%…however, in the trading update they mentioned that revenue in Germany for q3 was even worse, down by 21%…does anyone know what drove the even worse performance? Did they receive even less compensation for energy costs?

This share is more and more frustrating…down double digits and just heading in one direction…without anything really changing…at this pace we might be in the low to mid 60s ahead of earnings…was hoping that earnings had a chance of moving us above 100, but I guess not

Assuming no NA sale they will have to repurchase the bond and issue a new hybrid one at much higher rates. So this will likely lead to around 30mio additional interest charges. They can’t simply just keep the hybrid in my opinion as they will lose the equity component of it which will increase their leverage ratio

Imho the share will mainly be driven by gilts and interest rates around the world…if we continue to see higher rates on the back of inflation concerns then we will probably test lower towards the 60-65s…however that doesn’t change the fact that there should be a lot of value around current prices…hard to impossible to forecast macro so better focus on the long term value here and not get spooked by share price volatility imho

Driven by the sell off in Gilts…not company related but given its high debt load it’s getting dragged lower.

Wace boosts their shorts to 1% (by 0.1)…wonder what they are seeing as the main drivers…sticky interest rates, German rail, uk wages?

Thanks ghost. I think given that this is a US company with US revenues your currency translation is not needed here. So using your assumptions 6x175mio will be sufficient for this calculation.

Personally I don’t think that they will sell it anywhere near 1bn or below given the positive headwinds and calculations as well as recent analysis by brokers.

If anyone is looking for some confidence…just read the interview with Cosmen again…they know way more than us and said that they see value here and hence increased the stake…I am not concerned unless they start to reduce

Comment sounds a bit influenced by recent share price performance rather than the underlying business performance. Let’s not forget that Germany only accounts for 7% of total revenues. Not great what’s going on in Germany at the moment and certainly a drag on the overall company…but in the big scheme of things it will not determine the destiny of this company with other bigger revenue streams heading the right way.
