The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Now predicting 18 percent....
Anger
Obviously the company has to fund any pay rise but how is it when they need money to pay div out they seem to find it like picking a rabbit from a hat.
You can't say to the workforce you can't have that and then give out hundreds of millions.qq
Not sure that inflation will be 2 percent by 2024 especially when Bailey says it not seen in a great light after his tenure at the FCA and his comments to workers not to ask for a pay rise when he earns five hundred thousand a year.
The government is raking in plenty of money from fuel and vat but they want that little windfall for a tax cut which we would have already paid for with the taxes we are paying on the increase of goods and services...we are already paying 10/15 p more than other European countries.
I would also add that we haven't even touched on the housing market where rents are ridiculous and now coupled with this energy jump almost unsustainable for people to survive.less money, more crime .always a cycle in these circumstances.
How can you pay everyone 400.00 when this includes the wealthiest in society receiving this payment.Sunak looking after his buddies again. To lazy to have a limit.
The reason I brought this discussion to the table was that although some experienced barristers earn 40000/100000 a year there are many junior criminal barristers that are on salaries of around 13/15 thousand a year which is less than minimum wage.So 15 percent is not the greatest of a pay rise.
These people are an integral part of the criminal justice system and for my part these young barristers need to be rewarded accordingly other wise they will be lost to the private sector where they can earn 3 times as much.
Just seems wrong that these people earn less than the pay rise that the CEO received...
So even a 7 percent pay rise for a postman would be around 25 a week.
Now with an increase of 100 percent in fuel bills alone for example mine went from 130.00 to 254.00 the increase wouldn't cover that and that's without fuel and food increases.
I see the barristers union intend to strike as the 15percent rise was insufficient as they want 25 percent!!!!
Strange no one comments on their union as being militant!!!
You can see the trend now where these companies are getting huge profits and the workforce is treated with contempt.
What's unbelievable is this huge payout to share holders and yet the fleet is not fit for purpose.
Two hundred million would have been more than enough.
Now nearly 20 years on from crozier and the headline 'Royal mail losing one million a day' in public ownership here we are as plc and we are still losing a million a day.?
In between all that millions has been paid out to CEO in signing on fees for Nico bac I think around 5 million,2.9 million pay out for crozier when he left and now the bonuses and new tranches of free shares to mature in 2025..
Not against shareholders making money that's what you are in it for however this company has been rinsed for way to long.
For to long these companies have paid low wages to boost their profits.
The European lorry drivers were constantly moaned about now they have gone the drivers are having to be paid a proper wage.
Manpower will not provide any staff to cover any strike action in royal mail...
Not sure what people were expecting but it was a small IPO and the funds are now in place to increase sales.
I wouldn't expect to much until next quarter.
With regard to 4 percent pay rise for doctors and nurses who save lives..that is also relative to what your basic pay is and what wasn't added was the fact that the lowest paid NHS staff were getting 7/8 percent pay rise...if you are earning five hundred thousand a year and getting a 3.5 percent pay rise is around 18000....if you are on 25000 and getting pay rise about 600.00....so when a postman is getting a ten pound a week rise or 2 pound a day seems a little unfair....gas,electric...100.00 a month extra... fuel 60 pound a month extra...food 40 pound a month extra...and inflation...
I didn't see any of the board saving life's and yet they got 850000 and 140000...
Another tranche of free shares ..didn't see them save any lives...
Barristers turned down 15 percent pay rise....
As for management a whole load were got rid of and it was over subscribed...why?...because they have been on the gravy train for so long and now they would have to be accountable... paid 70/80/90 thousand to go...from 4 managers to 2managers and these 2 guys are doing a great job...so why the extra managers for so long...emmm....
I heard the reason why management got agreement was they wouldn't accept Sunday in a duty structure and wanted to be paid overtime for it and threatened to not work on Sundays....just a rumour...but these tend be near the mark
It's the management that have agreed 4 percent...don't know why they bother being in a union...oh yes I do...
They use the workers to get want they want...
Depends if he is a ltd company...like being self employed you can write of many things through tax..
Amazon Workers,in tilbury, withdrew their labour today asking for 2 pound an hour pay rise due to the cost of living ....
The working people have had enough of these bosses paying huge pay increases and bonuses while the workforce struggle to make ends meet with paltry pay offers of 10 and 20 pound a week.
Well that was a waste of time....Knew all of that from RNS and Twitter....seemed a bit convenient that there wasn't enough time for questions to be asked publicly but could
be privately....
Still think this has great potential but don't like it when clearly some awkward questions were going to be asked about placing prices ...Obviously didn't expect any bombshell news but it was like reading from a booklet...
Microsalt seems to have the greatest potential to be huge....
Says 4...4.29 on the virtual link...
He is in at 4pm
postmen/women earn 25 times less than the CEO who had a 3.6 pay rise in April on his basic.Equivalent to around 18000 or 60/70 percent of a postman's annual salary.
Whose greedy?...postmen ?
Hope you are right :)
Would be nice to see some director buys tbh gives the share holders some confidence that they have some skin in the game
No good on twitter....Need some news on here.Gone from 35_22...a 35 percent drop...I don't think the cancelled interview put Cliff in a very good light especially with placing.Very poor in my view.Would have more respect if he turned up and faced the music.
Still like the concept of Tek but really need to hear some news...
As far as I understand it Nigel wray appears to be the holder of these shares via RBC.They have been adjusted down to reflect the placing shares and therefore the percentage held is less.
Quite frustrating that this share is still at these levels.I believe should be at least 10p more .So much potential and progress. However has been managed well. lots of financial woes at the moment and in the near future globally.
If there was an offer let's hope it's a good one.
