In this time of quiet - for those who are not aware the copper bottom of HMS Victoria came from Parys Mountain.

It was the anniversary of the battle of trafalgar yesterday - hopefully progress will be made before the next anniversary

Either seepage of news - which i suspect unlikely or buys generating more buys

Or possibly some PI buy reasonable but small chunks which due to few free shares drive price up - with some normal investors but some having punt and then backed up by positive comments from selves and friends on this and other boards which suck in other buyers - pushes price up further (again due to low number free shares) punters take fifteen or twenty percent profit - or more - wait price slip down then repeat.

If latter is case we can expect to see rash new posters with very positive comments and some who post very rarely also being very positive

Hopefully it's not the latter and is a genuine rise

Suggest look back through posts to those by Southwesterner and in my opinion you will get the most accurate analysis there. In my opinion it is more complex than simply five times as much assets as previously - down to definition quality ore etc. Hope this helps.

I think most LTH must have optimism for the long term or they would not have the shares at all. That is not to say that the optimism is not tempered with realism and desire to realistically debate likely progress of their investment.

I think the sole purpose of any limited company is to create value for its owners in a legal and ethical way.

The exception being if the owners have set it up for another purpose

Certainly the recipients of the placing shares of they sold or have been selling since have had the opportunity to make a few pounds

On a separate note some one recently stated about a mining company (i thnk it was) that took twenty years to come to fruition - here I think it is 36 years and counting. I have not had shares for all that period but now i look back for a frighteningly large part of it.

To put it into perspective the first world war started in 1914 and the second concluded on 1945 - a mere 31 years later

It is frustrating and I am being able to understand some of the technicalities (thanks in no small part to South Westerner)

But that apart I do have a belief that a second or best plan actually put into operation is preferable to constantly striving for a beautiful and excellent plan which costs ever more to implement and never starts.

For some years given the piles of data and information to hand I hoped that some one might see sufficient there to make a go of it from what they knew.

I seem to recall that this did come close with an Australian company done years ago.

I do accept that overall the most efficient way is probably what they are doing know. But in the past have wondered why with information they had they could not have started on a smaller scale then used revenues to finance in part or all to the larger scale - if and when subsequent surveys demonstrated viability

I think you are partially correct

We have seen this many times over the years - price drifts along then encouraging announcement prompts interest and buys. Narrowness of free shares exaggerates increase. This pops them up on risers board and encourages more buys. Then profit taking takes place and we largely return to the starting point or a bit above.

One could argue good percentage returns to be had buying at about 1.5p and sell at about 2p.then wait and repeat
There have been numerous opportunities to do this over the years.

Medium to long term I hope will be sustained rise as concrete developments seen. This is why I hold them. Limited but real potential downside (if funding runs out or diluted to excess by rights issues) but hopefully potential upside is greater.

South westerner I think does a fantastic job with his measured input and reality

Company website is literally a mine of information. As is company's house beta which amongst other things confirms what an earlier poster said - the assets are actually rolled up costs spent on surveys etc over the years.

The owned land is actually in a subsidiary (100% owned) with possibly relatively low book value.

As always DYOR and that can help would be buyers decide if they want a quick in out or a longer term investment.

I totally agree unless can actually start mining all is academic

But i find it interesting to have a rough idea of where it might go subject to lots of varables. I must admit my gut feeling - making allowance for the fact that the net profit whilst large - is going to be spread over many years - is sub ten pence

But if time permits i will try a calculation based on possible annual net profit allowing for capital costs and royalties and reinvested to see what dividend may be payable - also factoring in that it will not be in definite due to mine life

I am aware that will be largely pie in the
Sky as well have to assume all runs relatively smoothly and that mineral prices etc neither rise nor fall and then depends what price investors would pay for the anticipated dividend.

A horrible and probably pointless calculation but i may have a go at it

The other positive - which to their credit anglesey have never mentioned is that the minerals I am sure will not cease at the limits of their owned / leased land.

So if they can get the mine up and running there must be a chance that they can either buy adjoining land or mine it again subject to lease costs or royalties. This is years in future of at all but something I bear in mind.

I know that Anglesey (through its subsidiary) does own a large part of Parys and leases the remainder, you have mentioned their owning 600 acres. I have previously looked in accounts and not been able to find that - I may be overlooking the obvious and if you could point me in the right direction I should be grateful

In essence if i understand right that indicates a potential net profit 400m dollars over the time it takes to extract the ore so 40 m per year if 10 years and 20 million if 20 years. Each figure being a multiple of the company's current worth. Which is good.

Do your figures include the royalties that are due. From memory for one area they are a percentage of the NSR for another a percentage of the net profit.

You right mineable ore gone up which is great news. Although known and inferred previous was I think 2 million know plus 4 or five million tons inferred

Clearly much better proposition than before but I am not sure that is as straight forward as clean five times as much actual metals. Will depend actual percentage metal to ore further studies will show this.

I have held these shares long time but one of my concerns has been and remains each successive improved survey study etc seems to push back time to mining actually takes place

Like most here i think this is share with large potential but this does depend on potential being realised - and in meantime - as stated in company's accounts - ability - with no income to cover ongoing costs

In my opinion potential is worth hold the shares - or I would have sold long since. But I am also painfully aware that no matter how good reports etc that until mine producing and cash positive there has to be risk I will lose lot of all of my gamble - a risk I am happy to take

Usually as you say it is to avoid unrealistic swing in price. AYM prone to it due to narrow number of free shares. Usually when market makers have trouble balancing buyers and sellers. In this case key point - as you state whether upward movement(due to excitement over recent RNS) or downward due to recent buyers and wanting quick profit on their buys and LTH top slicing or getting out, that they are damping down

I am hoping that some of the recent gain will hold untill further news - time will tell

The ten p figure would be good but where has it come from i have seen no consensus about it
From past experience good news push causes small buying demand - narrowness of available shares pushes up further - then tremendous excitement. Then after few days slowly drifts down.
I think what needed to take up permantly is some concrete news about financing etc
