Actually I think I can see how stockopedia have got to a net debt of £133m. I suspect they have included lease liabilities of £138.6m as debt in their calculation.

This gives a misleading view in my opinion but there are arguments on both sides. For me it is just the accounting treatment of future rent payments (their is an equivalent asset of similar size also on the balance sheet).

PP1 - The net cash position is £5m. I have no idea where stockopedia gets its number from but personally I trust the audited accounts not what a third party site says. If you can explain how it gets £133m (i.e. what each number is that adds up to it) then that might shed some light on it but otherwise it is best to assume the number is simply wrong.

It is always best to go direct to the accounts to see what the real position on any historical figure is rather than trust second-hand information.

They can be suspended for all sorts of reasons (including some to protect investors perhaps) but not sure where the 14 days comes in. Revb for example was suspended and has just been reinstated after 9 months (and doing rather well since).

Unfortunately I don't think the suspension for CINE will have anything to do with protecting investors - just very likely the end for us instead.

OK - if I back a horse at 2/1 but then see it hobbling around the parade ring with a jockey posting 10lb overweight and think it has got absolutely no chance I should snap up the 50/1 I'm then being offered? I don't think so (imho)

That doesn't make it a sensible think to do. Averaging down only makes sense if the you feel confident the price will rise from where it is when you invest. If you don't then you are just expecting to lose more money.

In other words any investment should be treated on its own merits regardless of what you've invested before.

PP1 - Cash is £330.9m. Debt is £325m. So net cash is £5.9m.

Poor - that’s stupid logic. Of course I can afford another £100 but why should I want to lose another £100 when I think that is what is going to happen? After all I don’t make a habit of just flushing £100 down the loo or chucking it in the bin. I could trade it of course but what might I get back as profit. £20? £50? But more likely lose it all anyway by holding out for that.

What you’re suggesting is just gamblers’ thinking not rational thinking.

Fair points dagenham. I did take some out on the way down but not after foolishly averaging down first.

I invested in CINE as I believed the company could turn things around reopening after Covid before the debt became a fatal issue. Unfortunately I was wrong as the audiences did not come back quick enough, mainly because enough films weren’t being released. I got it wrong but I agree, my bigger mistake was not getting out soon enough. My call, my fault - it’s just that I convinced myself after each fall the sp still represented value - i.e. the sp was falling faster than my confidence.

I never felt it was too big to fail though. One other point is that it is not an AIM stock - it’s main market (not that it makes it any better).

And in all likelihood lose even more money? Just chasing losses or throwing good money after bad. I’m resigned to losing what I have (bar a miracle) that shouldn’t mean I should risk more. It’s too risky I think to even trade as the final curtain could come down any day now. If others want to then obviously that’s their choice.

I wouldn't and have never said this. More make believe. I think it's going to zero but in the meantime there may be more trading opportunities. Or, there may not.

I think holding for two years makes me a LTH but whatever.

As other posts have shown, there are many LTHs like me who think this is going to zero and have lost a packet but haven't quite yet pressed the final sell button in case, with so little value left anyway, they lose out on a miracle happening. I don't think it is that difficult to understand and I'm sure quite a few out there will recognise the feeling. Just wish I'd got out when I first started having serious doubts but stubborn to the last. It's all very simple really - no need for complicated make believe.

I'm long on this like I have been for about two years now but make up whatever rubbish you want - you usually do. The entertainment you provide though almost makes my thumping loss here worthwhile - almost, but not quite :-(
