Strange that at this bargain price LOAM is not buying.
Strange that at this bargain price Brian Tenner is not buying - and by that I mean a proper buy of say GBP 100k not a symbolic share purchase….

@Ginodog: Best to ignore all the brokers. The settlement represents a capitulation no matter the various organs say.
Looking to cut my losses from this shambles.

@hellojlo: I read through broker reports such as Edison and listened several times to Brian Tenner’s presentations and made the mistake to believe him and the inflated messaging. That was my mistake- and that of many other investors.
I read through the 09.01. RNS and that gave me food for thought as I found the language rather defensive but that the final settlement would be this this weak came as a shock to me.

So believe me emotions initially played not a big part in my decision to invest and I did many calculations. Please also note that the brokers were all using license rates of USD 10-15 for each QD TV and Peel Hunt only on 09.01. dropped this to USD 6…. still too high a figure as it turned out.

I know that you are not having a go but believe me many rational investors are left a bit shocked at the final outcome.

@Mattyboy: Now if you recall Nanoco was fully funded until 2025 thanks to the fund raise of May 2022 so it was not like Nanoco was under imminent threat to go under. Secondly we could have secured injections in key markets such as Germany which would have been felt very keenly by Samsung and would have brought them to the negotiation table very quickly!
Again Nanoco had a strong hand and agreed to a very disappointing outcome- and which is light years away from Brian Tenner’s messaging to investors.

I repeat this over and over again as I have the feeling that some people on this board seem a bit over eager to gloss over this…..

@hellojello: I read your comment aimed at me with puzzlement. The price I paid has a lot to do with my future actions as the price at which I sell in the future will determine whether I might get out at breakeven which is in the low 30ps….so not too far away.

It is also not a contradiction to my repeated statements that I don’t trust Brian Tenner anymore. I hold as I know that Nanoco will receive millions that will secure the company from going under any time soon but I have also learnt not to trust the sunny plains speeches and bright bright future spiel of Mr Tenner.

What shadow was hanging over our heads??? As far as I can recall STM was happy to sign one research agreement and prolonging it afterwards…as was the Asian customer.
Also just one good order from STM would have secured Nanoco so it was and still is in their gift to secure us regardless of Samsung trial.

@Ecclescake: Fine words by Brian Tenner. ….but then Mr Tenner had also fine and confident words for all investors regarding the first major inflection point…and that proved to be such a great inflection point that Investors Chronicle calls it a disappointment and many investors have sold.

I am holding but have no faith left in Tenner.

@claire smith: I like the word “misuse” instead of stealing. That’s a very neat expression.
Just as an info I spent 16 years in mid office roles at major asset management companies and know when I as an investor have been sold down the river.
Now maybe Nanoco will pull off some deals but as of now no visibility on this and a CEO who has misled investors. Hardly something to get excited about.

@Mattyboy: I consider it my duty to warn off any potential investors from buying shares in Nanoco as management has shown itself not to be worthy of trust or shareholders’ hard earned cash.
Yes I hold but only because I am slightly at loss and will sell as soon as I break even.

However I have the decency to warn others compared to some people who want to gloss over Tenner’s betrayal only so they can make a quick trading profit. Got it now?

Claire smith: Di you see my calculations on what Nanoco has “lost” by signing up to the capitulation settlement.
I would liken you to the owner of a Ferrari whose GBP 200k Ferrari is stolen and who spends years of efforts and money on lawyers to get it back and one day before trial day agrees that the thief can keep the Ferrari in exchange for GBP 30k. Yes great win against Samsung….comical just comical!

@Boracic: You nailed it. I am holding as a highly disgruntled shareholder who will bail out at the next opportune moment.
Brian Tenner credibility is in tatters and you don’t want to invest in a company where you cannot even trust the CEO - not even a tiny bit!

@claire smith and GigaWitt: Yes massive buys from institutional buyers yet the share price dropped and stays low…..comical…just comical.

@claire smith: I respect your professional experience but highly doubt that anyone would throw money on the table for Nanoco - and especially the kind of money you mentioned.
Over the years any cash rich (and there were many around) investment company or tech company could have bought Nanoco yet none did.
Samsung through the settlement is now in a great market dominating position and we got peanuts and a T shirt.

@katstrangler: You are being too kind and polite.
I will take Brian Tenner’s next investor meet as an expert master class in how to perfect a mock sincere act. Anyway only those who believe in the fairytales of Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytales will give any credence to his words.

Funding new research- and here lies the problem. Research takes time and from there it is a long way to commercialisation…. So we could potentially look at another long dry stretch unless the anonymous European or Asian customer places a decent sized production order.
I give Nanoco another 3 months at the most and afterwards am out… I seem to recall that BT said something about imminent order in lateish calendar year 2022 but so far nothing…. confidence in the management is now really low.

@Feeks: I slightly disagree with you. The IP is/was valuable it was just not properly defended by Brian Tenner during “negotiations”.
I mean Samsung as a tech giant would not have knocked on Nanoco door and requested a collaboration all these years ago if the IP was not great and important.
Nanoco management was desperate for the money and “forgot” about all the promises it made to its shareholders.

I am now completely baffled - I only see buy trades this morning yet the share price sinks further???

@GigaWitt: Any communication from the FCA to me will not be shared by me as I think that the FCA should conduct its investigation free from any communication being shared on boards.

@NGR: Most people were rationally working based on figures reported by brokers some of them paid by Nanoco itself. Let us take Edison and others who published a license rate of USD 10-15 per sold QD TV. So 45 million sold QD TVs multiply with USD 10 (low range) and you arrive at USD 450 million as potential compensation for past global sales. Please bear in mind that future sales are not even included in the USD 450 million figure. Now we know that ca 10m QD TVs are sold every year so let’s say for the next five years 50m QD TVs multiplied with USD 10 = USD 500m.
Now add up USD 450m (past sales) + USD 500m (future sales) = USD 950m.

The thing is Brian Tenner was fully fully aware of the broker reports but did nothing to rectify or correct any incorrect impression that could be logically deducted- quite on the contrary he stoked expectations until 09.01.

And that’s a fact NGR and GigaWitt. Anyway I will write to the FCA today.

@GigaWitt: You are a big joker. Kindly share with us your answer to Feeks’ question to you with hard evidence what low guidance BT has ever given to investors….and I mean prior to 09.91. Please provide finally.
