In all honesty I wouldn’t expect a multi bagger before year end 2023 - in fact I would be happy just for it to reach 36p.
All you are saying is based on what BT has communicated and whilst it is valuable d to base one’s hope on management statements to a certain degree one needs to be very careful to swallow BT messaging as he tends to overdo it…and that is me being polite.

Favourable terms… well first of all I guess Samsung was the biggest offender so anyone else will not be so juicy to go after…and if we offer favourable terms we can just about forget about it.
Samsung was the prize and that slipped through our hands like sand.

An institutional seller seems to be out there…not a good sign.

If you go through 98% of my posts here you will see that I have interacted with others honestly and politely as one should do.
Getting one, two investment calls does not make any of us geniuses. Mind you I reduced by 15% a couple of days after 09.01. and on that bit made a profit of ca 9% so certainly not all doom and gloom on my side.

As FH has pointed out even he was torn after the 09.01. RNS as the language hinted heavily at a disappointing outcome. However as many people have pointed out here where BT had highlighted the lower model is doubtful as I never saw it in broker reports since I invested…

Never mind I am hopeful that I will break even here but one needs to have blinkers on to
a) maintain that BT’s messaging to investors was not misleading
b) that the settlement is a success for Nanoco- if it had been the share price would not have tanked, Investors Chronicle would not term it a disappointing outcome and I guess BT not trying so hard to paint it as a success.

I would also note that investors don’t seem to be in a rush to buy Nanoco shares.

@GigaWitt: I didn’t look between the lines I read broker reports, I listened to Brian Tenner’s presentations.
Contrary to you I was too obstinate to act after the second RNS and inwardly had reduced my expectations but that I would have to reduce them to USD 150m which is just an utterly ridiculous amount as compensation fir past and future sales that I didn’t anticipate,

And mind you what I find galling and very telling: Brian Tenner is trying it again on with investors by trying to put on a rosy spin on a very disappointing outcome. No thanks no confidence left and once the share price is back to 36p which is entirely possible after two business wins I will be out…

@FH: This is my concern as well and even more so as it now has been demonstrated for all to see how Mr Tenner is happy to maintain a misleading impression.

@FH: You did. and I should have followed your advice as well as my gut feeling as somehow the wording in the second RNS struck me as being so defensive…but I allowed my gut feeling to be overruled by the calculations I did based on broker reports and based on the words that BT had used such as “major inflection point” in value and “transformational” - and please bear in mind when he said these words.
I don’t think that this settlement is a major inflection point in value at all - only in a negative sense.

@FH: If BT had followed through with his promises 37p would have been a good share price…

@GigaWitt: For which Brian Tenner is paid GBP 500k. I can assure you that many doctors and nurses and teachers have the same if not higher stress levels than Tenner.

Yes like you I have every sympathy who question that in the light of previous messaging by BT, the time he had to correct -ground the expectations he didn’t do so.

…which makes people question his integrity and whether he should stand down now/be made to go.

Sad that all these analysts at Edison, Peel Hunt etc don’t have you on your team.
Now if this was so obvious two questions:
1. Why did all these brokerage houses use these figures?
2. Why did Brian Tenner who had seen the brokerage output and even paid for the research never make an attempt to dampen the range of figures in these reports - let alone in the forums that he was evidently aware of.
I guess because management was quite happy with the misleading impression it left with many…

@NGR: Don’t get personal here just because I state some uncomfortable truths.

NGR: Let’s be serious here the difference between revenue and income is not that great…especially for a tech company.

@GigaWitt: What I and others did was to simply multiply the license rate stated by several brokers to be USD 10-15 with the numbers of QD TVs sold. Actually I used USD 10 and sometimes even USD 8 to do very conservative calculations.
It turns out that Brian sold us out for below USD 3….and that for a technology that was crucial for Samsung….otherwise Samsung would never ever have approached tiny UK outfit Nanoco.
This settlement was a sell-out and if you and others want just to focus on the absolute USD figure rather than on what should have easily been paid by Samsung (ca USD 250-300 million in my opinion for a fair deal reflecting a compromise) than that is your choice.

@GigaWitt: Many investors will recall Brian Tenner’s mock sincere act (major inflection point and all the other fair words) and will mentally make a note to half any number that BT will give as projection…
Actually I think BT will only waffle this time and will have no concrete business win to share.

It is cheap and I don’t deny this. However it is cheap for a reason due to retail investors selling after witnessing a settlement which really is a very very disappointing outcome and which fell well short of all the talk and spiel Brian Tenner gave.

Holding for the time being but looking to exit as I have little faith left in the management.
