Investors during a closed period which is either 30 or 60 days depending on the company’s policy. No CEO would breach this and it looks like the CEO of Sym has been around a long time so isn’t a novice. Also results could be out anytime up to end of June - within 6 months of year end

Its behaving well because the company is telling the market the bare minimum and allowing a friendly investor to sweep up the loose shares and so the SP goes up but slowly. This is shown by gap between the SP and the placing price - in a normal market the arbitrage would close this gap but not many people are following such a tiny company

Good idea, looks like the company is staying very quiet just doing the bare minimum in terms of announcements and allowing their friendly new shareholder to quietly buy any loose shares putting as many in safe hands as possible. They probably don’t have very long until have to announce whatever convinced a professional investor to pay 20p for £2.5m shares

There are lots of big trades so maybe a large shareholder is exiting. This will hold the share price until its fully executed

To raise at such a high premium from a professional investor must mean that they were provided “impending” price sensitive information and would have required sign-off by the nomad and the board would have need to assess that this was for the benefit of all shareholders. They won’t be allowed to buy in the market until this information is released to the market and it will only be released once its concrete. Maybe this is the long awaited Indian certificate for selling their d2w. This would be a game-changer and would be a reason to pay this big premium.

You would have thought the Intertek stage 1 report, passing the biodegradable test, is massively important. And definitely no less important than the mircoplastics test announcement today. Strange they are holding this back? After losing the EU case, you would expect them to be shouting from the rooftops.

Interesting that they anticipate results to be announced in April. My guess is they expect to get their Indian license by then and are waiting to release all together. Its also a shame the company hasn’t announced that they now have everything required to submit their application for the Indian license given investors have been waiting for so long. There appears to be a deliberate holding back. They need to be more proactive and release this kind of key information.

This RNS looked as if it forms part of something else, it doesn’t look like a stand-alone bit of research and why spend money on something they already know. So I decided to look back at some previous RNSs. And found this in the 22 March 2024 circular in relation to the Indian standard testing “The testing of d2w under the above category is ongoing at Intertek, Mumbai. Our sample had achieved 74.4 per cent. biodegradation as at 25 January 2024. The test of biodegradability will pass when 90 per cent. biodegradation is achieved which we expect to be achieved during this year”. I also found an article published in The Hindu dated 24 March 2024, which states that the new standard now requires proof that mircoplastics are not created.

So this mircoplastic research is probably the next stage of the testing required by the company before it could submit its application for its license in India.

Its a shame the company hasn’t done an RNS on the first stage which was due at the end of last year. This would have given investors confidence the technology works. Why only publish the second stage? Surely publishing the first stage would have lead to a higher share price and filled the information void as discussed by many investors below.
