UK shares are down c.4% on Parliament shut down news and Kier is up marginally. Something is up...may be news re Kier Living....let's hope so at least!

Agree, we should be back in 200s tomorrow as they have reported better than expected margin at 4% (2018 H1 - 3.5%). Another demo that this is a great business. 7% yield is just a bonus.

I have been signalling short squeeze since last Weds here. Glad I was tight. Now on to 200p and beyond!

I expect closing of some shorts to be reported this afternoon. Keep an eye on the short tracker. If it does, we are in for a huge treat next couple of days. 12% shares are borrowed which is 10-15 days worth of average trading volume which is massive. To be able to close some of that would require seismic shift in sp.

Why the collapse in sp? Anyone know?

Yeah, I am not selling until we are in 200s...i have no reason to give into scaremongering that has been going on against Kier and Costain.

If I had Kier shares currently I wouldn't sell. Tomorrow you will see a short squeeze in Kier. I own both Costain and Kier and I see future for both of them especially now Carillion is gone.

Looking forward to tomorrow as Shorters scrambles to close their dirty shorts. Monday afternoon will be interesting as FCA releases the short tracker. All hell will break loose if there is a slightest hint of hedge funds closing shorts.

if you are worried about Costain...just re-read their 28 June Trading Update...excerpt below...there has been little news since that trading update and sp has declined with all the scaremongering in the world....Costain will be back and with a vengeance in near future.

"Revenue secured to date for FY2019 is £1.1 billion with the Group's operating divisions expected to trade within the target margin range for the year. Revenue secured for FY2020 is c£900 million (compared to c£850 million for FY2019 at the same stage last year) and is also higher margin business overall.

The Group's order book is £4.2 billion (30 June 2018: £3.7 billion). The Group also has a preferred bidder position of c£600 million (30 June 2018: c£400 million) and tendering levels remain high.

The Group has a robust balance sheet including a strong net asset position and positive net cash, and expects to report an average month-end net cash balance for H12019 of c£65 million."

Both Kier and Costain has future IMO.

Great traffic figures. Long haul in particular is amazing. We are loaded with cash and all the Ryanair trouble should help.

I just bought in the anticipation of results and the fact that this has now fallen c.20% in past 2 days. Results will be much better than the current SP IMO. Hopefully recovery today to 250p and beyond. Let's see.

I agree. Strong fundamentals backed by a special divi in 2020. Strong cash position. This is a good long term hold.

TT International started closing the shorts (as reported today in short tracker) so expect shorts to close in near future. When Kier Living sale news is announced, all hail will break loose...GL all.
