Unless the usual city barrow boys have been given an inside track on something significant, a marked drop on no news just goes to underline ANGS's fragility in terms of overall MCap, as far as the market is concerned.

There's been endless speculation on what ANGS would be worth if the sidetrack is successful and with the help of the 2nd compressor does double current production levels up to 12 mmscf/day. After George's latest Xmas dilution, I'd say 3.5p would not be beyond the bounds of possibility.

However, an equally important calculation for any investor to make (and which the market is clearly making) is... what is ANGS worth if the sidetrack is unsuccessful, given its current several liabilities, debts owed and creditors?

I'm fine with short-term traders. Less so with those whose multi-post opinions u-turn dependant on whether they're in or out.

As for "narrative "? I don't have one, beyond saying that (as it has done from the start) this all and only depends on how much gas and by when. And to date the answers to those two very simple questions still remain unknown, unclear and unsure.

GL has turned on the small investor with this today, which is a shame, it takes time to build a reputation after their past history, and minutes to destroy it, but he will be OK with that, because his efforts to this point got him his and the crews rewards.
So I will treat this with the same contempt.

Well I did, and bought back 500k at 1.48 thanks for your concern. GL turned me into trading this more efficiently than I was planning, so I will do exactly that going forward. He lost a chunk of my confidence with what I deem as blatant misleading twitter feeds and other valuable points raised.
So I will treat this stock with the trading contempt it deserves,

And speaking of divas who have a clear mopdus operandi of storming off in absolute hissyfits whenever their unwavering uberpositivity is questioned...

Exact same schtick, different stock. Same old, same old. Oh so obvious short-term trader's tactics.

Push publicly stated in late Dec that he held the company "in contempt" and that it was only good for short-term trading.

People really ought to have taken that fact into account while desperately hanging on every uberpositive word he uttered since he bought back in (at 1.48)... it explains a lot.

Can those with such an obvious primary school playground level of maturity honestly own shares? I don't think Oscar Wilde has much to worry about when it comes to urbane witticisms...

The amusing thing about ScarletVixen's filter list is that it also includes some notable dyed in the wool ramptastic members of the ramptastic heavenly choir. Obviously filtered by SV in Oct/Nov last year when he was sl*going the company off with all his might, hoping for a cheaper entry point for his attempted short-term trade.

The fact that he's apparently just added the utterly inappropriately named BalancedViewer - one of the heavenly choir's lead pompom brandishers - to his filter list just adds to the amusement.

The MCap however is not below that level, because George issued all those new shares.

The "16 weeks for sidetracking" original estimate given by ANGS's own contracted experts (and amusingly, then hotly denied by a furious George as being wildly too conservative) is looking more and more accurate as time ticks by.

I'm on record as opining that IF the sidetrack did double current production up to say the 12 mmscf/day level (and that still remains a pretty big fat IF at the moment, despite much pompom waving), then an SP of 5 to 6p was potentially justifiable.

Mind you, I was saying that when there were 45% less shares in issue, so nowadays maybe 3.5 to 4p would be more realistic, if that big fat IF comes good entirely.

Make that 14 weeks that have already elapsed since the sidetrack was started. The point remains that ANGS consistently shows what can only be described as crashingly naive over-optimism at best.

The sidetrack is going to take at least the 16 weeks that was pointed out to ANGS from the very get-go..

Though I wasn't in the least surprised that there were issues, i certainly wasn't calling for ANGS to "explain" them.

If ever anyone wanted a simply beautiful example of the mistake that ANGS keeps making it is this:-

A couple of years back, ANGS furiously denied that sidetrack drilling at SFBY would take anywhere near as long 16 weeks (which was odd in itself, because that's exactly the timescale that the 3rd parrty experts it contracted to put in its planning application to Lincs CC stated in that document, but still...). Anyhow, here's ANGS's and George's reply to an IQ questioning whether that 16 weeks was realistic or not.

"We would be surprised and disappointed if the drilling part of the programme exceeded 28 days and the entire programme involved more than 7-10 days either side. On behalf of the Board, we have never heard or seen of any internal document which suggested we were planning for a 16 week side-track at Saltfleetby and we would challenge the poster to produce it. For that matter I haven’t heard of a drilling programme anywhere to these depths which could conceivably take 16 weeks – except perhaps on Mars, which is possibly where your poster hails from.

...We reiterate drilling to these depths does not take 16 weeks as every reasoning investor in this industry knows."

As the RNS of that date stated, the sidetrack was started on Oct 28th.. and we're now already 18 weeks past that point. Looks like it's George and his executive dream team that "hail from Mars" after all.

I have a sneaking suspicion that what the market would prefer is news of success on the sidetrack, rather than more explanations for the ongoing delays with it.

"Still stable"? That's stretching it a bit, given the 15% drop only a week ago...

However, barring any more GL faux pas or bombshells (and one can never count those out), it's hard to see any factors set to significantly affect the SP positively or negatively, prior to more definite news one way or the other on the sidetrack.

I only disagree with a couple of things. I don't believe that WG "hates" ANGS, merely that he's (quite reasonably) frustrated at the numerous false dawns, missed self-set schedules and rose-tinted porkies that seem to have eternally characterised the company. I imagine that Sageman is of a similar mindset.

Secondly, I disagree (vehemently) with your usage of the adverb "slightly".

But yes, and utterly unsurprisingly, it's all and only about "how much gas and by when?"... as it always has been.

Yep me too this week with Hive. Microsoft also had a major outage with their Azure cloud-based platform this week - and I suspect the two are directly related, with Hive probably using Azure to host its services.

However, Hive's communication to its users was non-existent. Downdetector was showing a clear issue from the multiple reports, but not a peep out of Hive until well after the event.

Oh man, that's going back some.

Vague memories of a TV ad featuring some short silver-haired septic called Victor something, having an ego trip by putting himself front and centre in the TV ads for some shaver company he'd allegedly bought.

A few things to comment on.

Firstly Garwool, those claiming that this is an inevitable disaster are literally no worse, ethically speaking, than those equally disingenuously claiming that it's a 100% cast-iron multi-bag certainty. The latter are just as self-interestedly dangerous for people's hard-earned money and so just as contemptible.

Secondly and looking at posting style, there's absolutely no way that Atowncalled Alice is Adrian. The latter is barely coherent at the best of times and cannot string a sentence together, let alone a paragraph.

On the subject of Alice, he/she is far too one-sided, IMV. SFBY isn't a guaranteed disaster and the sidetrack isn't a guaranteed failure by any means and could still come good. However, the sidetrack also isn't the nailed-on success that the short-term trading heavenly choir and GL would have everyone believe.

As to alleged multi-IDs from Telegram groups, the only one I'm aware of is the happy clappy Church of Scientology-esque Telegram group run by members of the short-term heavenly choir, where any joiner is assured that everything is utterly fabulous and no dissenting opinion may ever be voiced.

Things remain brutally simple re ANGS - and they've not changed for months. The sidetrack needs to be successful and result in a meaningful increase in the amount of gas that can be produced daily.

Now, as yesterday's RNS shows, drilling a successful sidetrack clearly isn't as simple as the heavenly choir have repeatedly and frenziedly tried to assure the unwary - but success is still possible. If it's achieved, then happy days. If it doesn't, then things won't be anywhere near as peachy. And nobody knows which way that's going to fall.

However, it remains true that the only short- to mid-term advantage of provisioning a 2nd compressor WITHOUT the extra gas fliw delivered by a successful sidetrack is one of redundant failover.

A 2nd compressor alone won't enable any extra gas production - after all, the single existing compressor is happily handling all the gas ANGS can currently throw at it.

Longer-term watchers of ANGS won't be in the least little bit surprised at today's RNS. It's absolutely classic ANGS and their standard MO.

But of course the short-term traders and other members of the heavenly choir will do their absolute damnedest to polish this one. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.
