Not quite as nailed-on as he tried so hard and so long to get others here believe, it seems.

Yes, there are those short-term trading ANGS and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, provided that they don't simultaneously do all they can to big up the company and assert that it's about to be a shoo-in nailed -on banker, deliberately exploiting the confirmation bias of the faithful - which one or two have been doing.

Sure, there's nothing to stop anyone being this duplicitous (very apt word) - but it's not liable to win them any friends when the mask eventually slips (as it invariably will at some point).

However, Crocq's quite right again. Let the melodrama slide - official news on the combined flows is the only real important info now.

An erstwhile very vocal champion of ANGS (and one that was held in reverenced by so many here while he was bigging up the company) has today been posting elsewhere claiming that things aren't exactly hunky dory with Well A4 and that this explains the disappointing SP.

Pfft. A tawdry defence of the abomination. Word order is one's friend there - "...JFK, Stalin and the strippers." Plural at the end to obviate any potential confusion.

The Germans probably have a grammatical rule specifying that positioning - let's face it, they have rules for pretty much everything.

I'll give you that, Howey - though I don't see why anyone would have problems with opinions that are provably evidence-based.

Anyhow, although it's clearly not going to be a flower power love-in going forward here, the fact that there are now far fewer unknowns, combined (hopefully) with no more "overpromising, then underdelivering" from ANGS might still lead to a a less aggressive BB.

There's nothing wrong with short-term trading. However, if anyone posts disingenuously on a BB in any attempt to gain more favourable outcomes for one's short-term trades? That's really not so good.

The one thing that's made ANGS's journey so rocky over the years and so damaged the company's credibility is the exact same thing that's given disingenuous chancers all the material they needed (and more) to ramp the share to literally ludicrous degrees - and that's been all those erstwhile company statements that have ended up literally every time bearing zero relationship to things as they've actually turned out.

It seems that for the new CEO at least, the penny's finally dropped that creating, then subsequently having to dash wildly inflated expectations is a particularly bad idea. And thank God for that.

I'm certainly not immune to the occasional fat-fingered typo, though it always causes me extreme annoyance when I spot such post-event. Coincidentally, you and I seem to share the same alma mater - "Dominus illuminatio mea" and in my case "Manners makyth man" in addition - which may have some bearing on things stylistic.

Honestly 360Phil, why are you surprised? Surely you're aware that (according to the more "special" on here anyway) I have only ever posted deliberately populist opinions in some bizarre effort to gain maximum likes and recommends?

Another reason you of all people shouldn't be surprised is of course because you and I are apparently one and the same person... along with Gallder, WG and I forget how many others, according to some. Honestly, it must be so crowded inside my mind - there's allegedly so many in there that if I ever held a gun to my own head, it'd have to be treated as a multiple hostage situation.

Naaah, I'll just carry on calling it as I genuinely see it, based on the most up to date evidence. The biggest and most encouraging sea-change for me has been the company's very recent tacit admission that it's sorry that George told so many porkies for so long, but it now vows to do better. My opinion on ANGS has been consistent throughout. Basically under both Vonk and Lucan, a continuous outpouring of jam tomorrow fairytales, accompanied by budget and timescale estimates that literally never once got met. That's been a long history of being totally misleading and deserves to attracts fully justified criticism. I have nothing but contempt for companies where you can literally never have any confidence in what the most senior management has promised.

Then "how much gas and by when"? The only question that has ever mattered, as anyone vaguely rational would acknowledge. It's taken far FAR longer and cost far FAR more to get close to that answer, but it now seems to be answered, there or thereabouts. And as I've said quite clearly, 9.3 mmscfd would be absolutely fine, if achieved. Frankly, so would 7.3 mmscfd. Either production level would cover the hedges plus all other ANGS opex and finex liabilities (the latter only needing covering for the next 25 months anyhow).

As I've said, ANGS is now in the best - and calmest - position I can remember it being in. And that's because, to paraphrase Donald Rumsvelt, pretty much all the unknowns are on the point of becoming knowns. So there's next to no opportunity for anyone to ramp, deramp or dissemble... and that's a very good thing in my book.

I appreciate that you're not pulling random numbers out of the air and are indeed effectively quoting figures given by George at one time or another. However - rightly or wrongly - I am personally consigning any information issued via any medium under the auspices of the previous CEO to the "not at all credible" bin. Which is why I am purely and solely focussing on what was stated in the most up to date and recent RNS (which as you know, George had no hand in penning).

One of the important things to avoid doing, if argy-bargy is to be avoided, is not to exaggerate already stated info.

As per yesterday's RNS, sorry, but a flowrate of 8mmscfd is not being achieved at the moment. Moreover, the stake in the ground put by Richard Herbert estimates that production of c. 9.3mmscfd should be achieved once flows from all three wells are combined, aided by both compressors. There's no mention of 10, 12 or exceeding 12.

And 9.3mmscfd would be absolutely fine. Perhaps best to stick to the facts of what's actually been stated by the company, rather than over-egg the pudding yet again, no?

SV, a more rational view after three years of nonsense might well be that the SP is set to rise - but slowly and gradually. I don't think ANGS can be twisted into a fast buck maker for chancers any more.

Well, it's never going to be a Shangri-La of flower power and cosmic harmony, Howey, that's for damn sure.

But there's now far less of any opportunity for shadier individuals to run their various "do as I say, not do as I do" routines - and that's without doubt a good thing.

Now the madly over-optimistic nonsense of the last 3+ years is behind us.. and now (with a bit of luck) there's a new CEO at the helm whose comms strategy will hopefully be based far more on reality rather than ramptastic pipedreams...

...what's the next inflection point for ANGS?

I suspect it's inevitably going to be a gradual increase in production levels over the remainder of the spring and summer, again hopefully up to the 9-9.5 mmscfd levels indicated by Richard Herbert (which would equal 3+ million therms a month). And this is not going to be a matter of speculation either - the almost live results will be there for all to see, courtesy of the NSTA daily figures.

I actually think that ANGS is now in the best (and importantly, calmest) shape it's been ever. There's no bombshell news now being awaited, so the stock's going to be far FAR less attractive to ramptastically disingenuous short-term traders/pied pipers, who I strongly suspect will now run their glaringly obvious schticks elsewhere.

So, despite what so many have desperately tried to convince all and sundry over the last 3 years (and longer), this isn't set to be some immediately multi-bagging shooting star (and frankly, never was). However...

My view? Provided that Richard Herbert's much more calmly and clearly expressed projections turn out to be reasonably accurate, ANGS is now a reasonable slow-burn mid-term value hold. Sure, revenues from production still need to deliver enough cash to cover already incurred liabilities over the next 2+ years to end Jun 2025, but if RH is correct, that shouldn't be an issue.

And that's going to make ANGS a much calmer hold for genuine PIs and - equally I suspect - this BB a far more pleasant place, now that there don't seem to be any more sketchy hooks available upon which to hang ramptastic pocket-picking nonsense. I imagine that'll be a huge relief for the genuine.
