All viruses constantly and naturally mutates ,which is not the real issue But the number of mutations matters , the degree meaning how small or large the mutation is matters ,and the time taken to do this as some viruses are much slower than others to mutate matters too.
Then taking into consideration the virus shifting into a newly formed covid when the mutated virus x2 infects the same cell to produce a new one completely different from the current virus..which is rare but is scary (so far it hasn’t happened in this pandemic).
The current vaccines will most likely work on the current mutations but the big question remains on their efficacy on the mutations viruses...but even this shouldn’t be a big problem as redesigning the current vaccines will only take several weeks to do . The flu vaccine for example gets redesigned every year to maintain its efficacy...
Well to me ..it looks like we are at the beginning of overcoming this pandemic....humans are super race that overcome all challenges the surroundings throw at us ....history is our witness..

We will always need multiple companies to produce covid vaccines as with the seasonal flu vaccines we have over 5 companies producing it.
It’s a multi billions people needs of all seasons. Covid19 is not a seasonal virus so we will constantly need to be vaccinated but how often remains to be answered..
