Not entirely correct. From the Centrica RNS "Commencement of Share Buy-Back Programme" issued on 5th April 2023.....

"The Company intends that any Shares purchased will be (i) cancelled; (ii) held in treasury pending their cancellation; or (iii) held in treasury pending their transfer out of treasury to satisfy obligations arising from awards and options granted to employees under the Company's employee share plans.

The purpose of the 2023 Programme is to reduce the capital of the Company."

You should use the figure from the Total Voting Rights RNS dated 28th February 2018 for the comparison as this was the TVR immediately before the first buyback started on the 8th March 2018, and the shares in issue then was 72,086,432,586.
