Fleccy.....agree with what you are saying about new shares being issued, but to put things into perspective, even after the issue of new shares in 2022, and 2023 to date, there was a net reduction in shares in 2022 of 3,651,731,591 , and a net reduction of shares to date in 2023 of 3,861,262,707. Total net reduction of shares to date 2022/2023 is 7,512,994,298. It's going in the right direction.
I personally would rather have a smaller buyback every year to cancel 1.1 times the new shares issued every year so as to gradually reduce the share count over time, and use the balance of money to pay a special dividend every year in addition to the progressive full year dividend.
