That makes perfect sense... my only question is why is it taking so long to finalize. I think even Leon was expecting to release some positive news on this front when he spoke about the "within 60 days" back in September 2022. Then November came and went, then he mentioned mid January 2023.... now its almost mid February. Hope there no more delays. Looking at the original WHI report a few years ago we should already be in production in the Northern Strategy...

My take on why the 6 month update won't be released just yet is because they need to close out the Zambian Northern Strategy ( purchase of 2 old refineries, cobalt facility and the additional 300 million tons of tails Leon eluded too.) They don't want to show their cards (profits) until the deal is signed.
I might be wrong but I see no other reason for us to be waiting like this especially if we expecting close to record earnings.. that's if production hasn't been to badly affected with loadshedding.

As long as there no unexpected hiccups in the 6 month update then we should start ticking up or even an up leg. The next 6 months will be substantially better with increased cobalt and copper production which I'm sure they will highlight. Also expecting a few positive surprises!!

In the article I attached (dated today). Sibanye speaks about acquiring MCM. Which I would think is the entire operation as they are a mining company not an investment company.

Anyone know if Leon is attending the mining Indaba in Capetown this week?

Just wondering is it the cobalt plant at Nkana JLP want?

I just can't under how Mopani could be sold on to another investor with JLP owning bits and pieces of the operations...

Seis, only because Sibanye are chasing green metals and have an extremely healthy balance sheet and Neil is an excellent deal maker.. known for it.

Sibanye is generating loads of cash on the balance sheet.

I can't see Sibanye been particularly happy if JLP snag 2 old refineries and a cobalt line along with tailings 300 mil tons....
Sibanye are already in the know how of tailing operations (Drd gold) so I'm sure they would want a piece of that..

After listening to the Sunday Roast and the sounds bits they added in ( nicely done chaps) I'm even more positive than ever on JLP. There are to many good things happening at the moment in JLP to not be excited about. This new announcement that our PGMs could double in 3 years is just the cherry on the cake! Why oh why are we not getting this news out to the market in a good old fashion RNS. Maybe it's coming. Looking forward to this week and news on all fronts!

Seisnav, fantastic breakdown of our hopefully to be earnings! Anything above $30 mil would be a success if you take into account the electricity and water issues.

I see no one here is questioning how JLP is going to make up the short fall of copper for this period January to June. They will need to produce 1166 tons of copper to get to 7000 tons. They mentioned that Roan is capable of 600 to 800 tons depending on the grade. So that still.leaves us with approximately 400+ tons shortfall. Can anyone here explain how they gonna target this. And please don't say 3rd party? This is a genuine question and to date I don't think Leon has let us know how he intends to get to 10 000 tons.

I would like to know what they produced in January... anything less than 1166 tons and its gonna be harder to get to that 10 000 ton mark.

Its getting frustrating that Leon always sounds super positive in interviews then nothing comes of it or even an update. So far this year it's been a dud again in regards to news flow. Even I consider this 6 month update late as I see most others have now reported there QUARTERLYS. Some things never change... arrrggg

I had 32p by August 2023 based on a Pe of 8 and earnings of $100 mil .
But I'll take 50p any day.. lol.

SA’s High Court was told that Anglo American turned a “blind eye” to lead poisoning in the Zambian town of Kabwe, where it held a stake in a mine for almost 50 years.

The case, a hearing to determine whether the lawsuit can be classified as a class action for as many as 140,000 women and children, began on Friday and will run until the end of the month. Anglo denies responsibility and opposes attempts to turn the case into a class action.

We now wait on the release of news on the Northern Strategy. There have been many Tweets about Zambia and what it offers, now it's time to show more action and less talking. The design plans have been ready since last year. Imo what they waiting on is closure of the brownfields refineries that they have obviously made an offer but seems to be taking longer than expected to close the deal. I think the price has gone up for obvious reasons. It's the only reason why they still have closed the deal that's been dragging on for a year now.

That's over 1000* tons.

The good news is that we at $9500 a ton of copper. We must be producing over a Ton of copper a month now! The share price definitely not acknowledging this :(

People on here continue to grasp at straws when it comes to excuses for the falling share price. And now its warrants. Just look at the chart... it been falling for almost 2 years. It's not warrants!! Its news flow or the non existent news flow and misleading promises along the way... eg. Eastern Limb silence. After 12 years I still have hope. Just hope I'm not a fool.
