Does anyone else not think it’s odd that Orion has supposedly agreed to convert $4.5m of debt at 6 pence whilst the SP is languishing at 3.5pence - equivalent to a 42% loss on conversion.

I picked up on this immediately but surprised that no one else seems to have commented on this anomaly.

That said the deal is not done yet.

The world financial system works off the mark to market principle with regulatory capital assessed against this but not in the tiny insignificant BMN universe.

Haven’t seen any discussion on here about the potential cliff edge of the US defaulting on its debt next month. The consequences are probably beyond the intellectual capacity of most on here but in layman’s terms the yield on US debt is viewed as the risk free rate of return. If they were to default this would send global markets into meltdown probably worse than we saw with Covid. Let’s hope they getting the debt ceiling raised to avoid this catastrophe otherwise it will be time to baton down the hatches. I suspect Orion may hold off on the debt refinancing until there is clarity on this.
