Mind you, I suspect that any conclusions I reach about Angus's SF-7 side-track plans will be criticised by some more regular BB posters as either ramping or de-ramping. But hey, who cares!

Very good news on the planning consent, but does anyone really know how the is expected to perform? I'm a bit concerned because under the previous owners there were apparently several attempts to sidetrack SF-7 but none of them seems to have worked. And why would Angus be able to do better than the previous and probably much more technically able, operators? We can obviously only wait and see, but I'm still anxious about the technical / geological aspects of the forthcoming drilling operation.

In my opinion it's unlikely there are serious wax problems at the B Site unless, of course, they have already perforated and flowed significant amounts of oil from the B-1Z well. And even then, we're not likely to see much wax from the Kirkham Abbey Formation unless it's produced in association with black oil. You almost never get wax when a gas or condensate well is being tested. If a hot oil truck was genuinely seen, I'd suggest that black oil is only one of Rathlin's scenarios for the test outcome. They may just be being very cautious and see wax problems as a remote possibility.

I've had a look at the British Geological Survey's data on recent UK earthquakes and there was one (Magnitude: 2.1 at 14.59 on Weds 2nd June) at Mareham-le-Fen in Lincolnshire but it was at a depth of 11 km / 7 miles and had a magnitude of 2.1 So it was definitely not the WN perforation guns being fired. That event should be be quite soon IMO.

There isn't an easy way of knowing where yesterday's seismic tremor was located. From the look of the chart, it was most likely originally reported on, and taken from, the British Geological Survey's website. I don't think we know - yet - exactly where it happened or at what depth. So why on earth would someone speculate that it came from perforating activity at WN? Most geophysicists would probably say that this was clutching at straws for news. IMO it was probably caused by a minor movement on a fault some miles away from WN, and even possibly out in the Southern North Sea where many previous minor earthquakes have been recorded in the past.

Hi Manwell. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and thoughts on the forthcoming EWTs. I've one further query, if I may. Have we been told for certain that the B2 well has already been paid for? It seems to me that a detailed B2 programme, and therefore its cost, could still be dependent on the two test results. I vaguely remember, however, it being mentioned ages ago that the A2 EWT had been pre-funded by the partners. Were you maybe thinking of that? Thanks, GP

It would be great if it's true, but I fear it may not be. Unfortunately the relevant Lincs Council planning meeting doesn't seem to have happened yet.

Today's RNS is worth reading. Egdon's and the other two Wressle participants (EOG & UJO) SP are all up today, Egdon's by more than 15% at the moment. This follows the news about ALL the consents having now been granted for the proppant squeeze. So when will oil production at Wressle be start motoring? It seems it will be before the end of June ...... all being well.

Abbott said that Wressle was still on test production, and he talked about the possibility of Egdon getting 150 bopd net from Wressle soon. Other than that, I didn't really learn anything new except that he was expecting positive news very soon. I assume this relates to the consent(s) for the proppant squeeze, although he wasn't very explicit about exactly what they were still waiting for.

Hi Takeyourbets. I'd be much more willing to believe that we are "full de-risked" if I was certain of what the re-completed well (or wells) was able to produce. With the field having been shut in for so long, there's no easy way to know how an individual well will perform until it's actually put onstream. Even so, I'm ever hopeful, perhaps like our board and Frazer Lang.

I'm wondering at the timing of RBD's latest investment in Corallian. The latter must be fairly close running on empty again by now so, if RBD had waited a while, perhaps they could have had 100% of Corallian for not very much more than they've already put into the company. I assume RBD aren't set up (or perhaps not allowed) to operate assets for themselves. But perhaps they could have held Corallian as a wholly owned subsidiary company, and possibly kept some of their technical team in place to do the work on Victory. Any thoughts?

Hi Gallifreyan. Please could you ask Frazer Lang or his holding companies about why he / they have invested so much in Angus shares as the answer would be very interesting for mere mortals like us - the PIs. That's if you can get hold of him, of course. If you were to reach him I wonder if he might - maybe - tell you what he did previously at Reabold and Union Jack. There he built up significant stakes, either through onshore UK asset sales by Humber O&G, or via market purchases. Those shares seem to have been sold once there was a decent profit to be made, and there's nothing wrong with that of course. IMO, though, the large RBD and UJO share sales weren't carried out at optimal times for them, and the same could easily happen with us. He might, of course, be angling for a seat on the Angus board, as at UJO. However, I don't see that outcome doing us much good as he doesn't seem to stay with his investments for very long.
