Regards the 10 blocks up for licence in September, Kenya will need to get Lokichar approved well before then in order to temp investors to bid… Oilers do not want to be in a position like Tullow waiting 10 years plus for approval while having to pay many millions in fees over the period… Kenya need to start looking proactive on a international level NOW…

To stand any chance of actually finding investors for the blocks on offer they need to demonstrate that shall oil be found, that they will allow production to commence, there’s the worry they will just cash in on the millions in fees for many years like with Turkana. Get Turkana approved and they will improve sentiment

To get FDP over the line to attract investors. Nothing stopping Kenya parliament from changing policy to approve the FDP first, secure financing/investment partners later.. the current policy is not working so if Kenya is committed to developing lokichar like they say… change policy, approve FDP then the investors with deep pockets will come to the table.

I work in the energy industry, there is a large amount of medium sized gas turbine electricity generation sites Popping up all over the country… so this so called phased out gas,, is used to heat your homes by conversion to electricity at 4 x the cost, you become poorer, the government gets richer.

Will diversion of foreign aid spending on defence budgets, spur Africa to develop more natural resources, knowing the billions in aid received is going to reduce dramatically. Africa receives $60B per year.

Where did you get the info of the 2026 bonds needing refinancing by May.. it says in the trading update they will be refinanced through the remainder of 2025?

Kenya 2025 tax year is from 1st July to 30th June, so regards FDP could be any time before July ready for budget allocation in the 2025 tax year.

Reading the Kosmos update it does incline to jubilee production numbers being stabilised in the first 2 months of the year, Ghana petroleum commission unlikely to publish numbers until after reported by Tullow as price sensitive data.

The whole of the south lokichar basin is thought to hold 4 billion barrels of oil, serious money if most could be extracted, why Kenya has not took advantage of this years ago is crazy.. they import all their oil, no production.

From the documents and media info we have seen in the past couple of weeks it finally appears the Kenyan government is now proactively addressing historic issues to get the project approved and moving.

Sidara already have a lot of data/knowledge from the last takeover attempts to bring them back to the table in the first place. I do think a offer will be made in the next week, just needs a bit of time to go over the financials and new contracts etc that have materialised since the offer last year.. I personally think it will be between 60-80p. The debt is still there which is materially higher than the MCAP. Yes the SP has reduced significantly but the debt is still there, so at 60p- 80p the deal is worth circa £1.1B - £1.25B opposed to the old deal @230p with debt, the deal was worth circa £2.23B, so up to 50% reduction in the offer.

Bigger pumps should now be up and running… bigger production numbers coming…
