S49, you're right on two counts. There IS something not right about the deal and, for us at least, the deal was too good to be true. The only thing I can think of is that mgt knows they will never find another buyer as gullible as Hebei, so they're trying to keep the deal alive in any way they can. Even a renegotiated deal will probably be better than any deal they could do with another buyer.

But I'm not too worried about a new round of financing. If anything, I'd expect a bridging loan until cash flow from HMS takes over.

I woudn't mind a bit of clarity as to the murky Hebei deal. They UNDERSTAND Hebei is investing in the mine? Considering we may end up taking the mine back, oughtn't we KNOW what's going on there? And if they're already mining, oughtn't we KNOW how much is owed us in royalties?

No one takes first bids seriously - they're just a way to get things started. Sort of like "do you come here often" at a bar. The real negotiating comes later.

If the trade is at a price higher than the bid-ask midpoint at the time of the trade, they call it a buy. If it's below the midpoint, they call it a sell. Nothing more complicated than that. Not always accurate but still a reasonable indication of what's happening.

Hey, we're in the wrong business! Instead of trying to get gas out of the ground (or find someone who wants to put it in), we should become derivatives traders. It seems to be more profitable and you don't have to deal with faulty compressors, nimby neighbours and the rest of it.

Excellent summary Poppyseed. It is really still a matter of wait and see (and we've been waiting and seeing for a very long time now), but I have the feeling that this is one of those things that takes forever to get underway, but once it does get moving, picks up speed very quickly.
