Some posters here have been talking recently of a share buyback. My view is that a buyback should be a last resort when other growth options are exhausted. IMHO we should be pressing on with developing the W African opportunities so as to provide another income stream and to demonstrate to the Egyptian landlords that we can't be wholly held at their whim as regards the court case and the fuel claim! Currently we are only a one trick pony and stumbling at that!

I've read that one or two of you have adverts popping up on here in the middle of posts. I was suffering the same for most of May and just resigned myself to it, however on Sunday I allowed Microsoft to update my Windows 10 with a series of updates I had been blocking for weeks and it appears to have eliminated the adverts! Yaaay - result. Of course it can go backwards as quickly as an Italian government appointment, but fine for now! I always find it odd that I receive my Lloyds div (from a few Lloyds shares still held as certificates in my name) into my Barclays current account on the payment date, yet dividends are still on their way to my Halifax account via Halifax Share Dealing.

Stormrider - I thought that the Dividend Allowance reduction to �2000 had been scuppered with the June election, but It was reintroduced in the Second Finance Bill published in September 2017 and given Royal Assent on 16th November 2017. HMRC apparently published a 'leaflet' explaining this but as yet haven't updated their website. It certainly passed me by! Wonder what the smug Mr H has planned for March?
