More importantly though, 2CV, why do you drive a gerry (well French) built upturned pram. Is it because it was designed to carry sheep and it comes in useful for your weekend pastimes? Some of the suggested SPs on here are from folk who believe in fairy tales. Any bidder knows AST is pretty much on the ropes and will be looking for a steal. Can't see an offer of more than £35m - £40m unless more than one company are bidding in which case we will be lucky to get £50m. IMHO of course.

So is it fair to say that Lloyds have overspent by £35m buying shares back at prices above the current SP? I'm sure the BOD were sincere when they advocated this as a means of 'returning cash to shareholders', just as they were sincere every time they've told us that PPI repayments were fully provisioned. Just that I keep thinking I could spend money returned to me as a shareholder better than they can.

Will next week's results be good, bad indifferent? For myself, I'm into Lloyds (pre crash) for income, being retired, and as such the buyback does little for me other than it counteracts the shares issued under bonus plane etc. Would far rather have had an extra dividend to spend on silly things having worked 50 years for the privilege to do so.
Just nit picking here but I don't think anyone can say with certainty what the share price would be without the buyback! JMO BTW (didn't mean to pinch your moniker mate but keep it up - you're doing well!)

Think it was meant to cause pain for Chinese consumers. As for the Americans, Trump's view is that they've been taking pain for some years anyway. Bit like us over the EU really! Sovereignty coming home - May willing! At least she can't rely on football generated goodwill to let her actions go unpunished.
