The concentration camp at Dachau (20km from Munich), for instance, was opened by Himmler in 1933 and whilst firstly used for 'enemies of the state (homosexuals. socialists, communists, priests etc.), in 1933 received over 11,000 German and Austrian Jews after the annexation of the Sudetenland in 1938. Further annexations - which is what brought UK to declare war with Germany - produced the devised final solution because of the greater number of 'enemies'. Disagree zac. The B share issue vale will be taken out of the SP at 5.00pm 19th, so (using today's SP as an example) 274 - 34 = 240p per share. The consolidation then takes place before 8.00am opening 22nd and the SP reverts to 240 x 8/7 (all else being equal) = 274p, however you only have 7/8 the number of shares you held on 19th so the value of your holding remains the same as at post B share issue. You will however receive 34p (approx) on 2nd November/ish for every share you held on Friday 5.00pm, so the value of your holding on 22nd plus the B share cash will equate to the value of your holding prior 5.00pm 19th, calculations of course being subject to SP movements next week. So we have a 'forced return of capital' but this should help enable the company to maintain a progressive dividend based on a smaller capital base!
As regards 'takeover target' - yes please!!!!! Can't see anything else regaining so much lost ground here in the short term. Yield is awesome however and the share buyback from an already reduced number of shares in the market should help those in for the long term. Wrapped mine in an ISA and forget them for a while!

Gerry65 - without preforming any research, my take on the subject is the same as Stockdale's, in that it would appear to me to be a no brainer that Slovenia would save money by using gas under their ground and taxing it, than to import it from another (possibly unreliable politically) source.

I can't speak for ARSO, but if I was an officer in a Government Department, I would bin any emails from anyone other than an official of the company seeking a permit! Get a grip children, they will do what they will do, whether you throw a tantrum or not. Now, an email to a Slovenian MP or Member of Parliament, well that's another matter entirely and could result in some timely ARSO kicking!

Oxo, I know where you're coming from but I feel sure that C100 didn't mean his comment to be picked up by some on here as it has been. Responses bypassed mild rebuke and went into apoplectic overdrive which would back most rational people into a corner. I certainly wouldn't offer an apology if I felt it wasn't warranted and I was being forced to do so anyway. A forced apology isn't worth the paper it isn't written on. Let that dog sleep!
