My focus hasn't been on mining shares over the years, so haven't much knowledge of the history of the game. Can any of you guys recall any bidding wars between the giants of the mining industry for Tier 1 projects over the years or are these deals put together at an early stage?

I've just returned from a day out imbibing at a microbrewery (BearClaw) in Berwick upon Tweed who as legend goes are still at war with Russia! Awaiting a train home (to near Durham) in a pub and fortified by the superb microbrewery produce including an 8.2% Black Beer, I didn't take too well to an adjoining discussion about the questions asked in the referendum 2016. Despite me showing them via the internet the lack of ambiguity in the choices, a dozen or so descended on me like a pack of hyenas and insisted that the 'leave' option depended on a deal acceptable to the UK! And remainers maintain that leavers are thick! OMG!

I wonder if that was why Wilson agreed to be the poster boy for the Gannex Mac - hoping to have Labour voters buy them and then be more inclined to vote in bad weather.
Alternatively he could have been influenced by the financial assistance it's inventor Lord Kagan provided to HW and his followers. Kagan must have been a good chap as he was awarded a knighthood and then made a Baron, but when he was subsequently imprisoned for tax evasion, he only lost his knighthood allowing him to return to the House of Lords. Damned Tories, don't you agree Roo?

Harold Wilson (another Communist) always wished for good weather on Polling days as he believed Labour voters tended to stay indoors in bad weather.
I would have thought that many of the hundreds of thousands of people smitten by the limping bug and thus needing walking sticks (2 please Doc just in case) or electric Benidorm Chariots would be less likely to venture to the Polling Station on a cold, wet, December day, and as anecdotal evidence suggests, thus materially disadvantage the Labour vote. Just my humble opinion of course.

LEVIS - My post wasn't aimed at you (TBH I didn't even know you were Scottish) or most other Scots, but at those who continually spout the rhetoric that implies they have been ground under the heel of the English for the whole of their and their antecedent's lives.
Living in the NE I'm able to regularly take advantage of the cheap and quick travel opportunities to Scotland life affords me - I'm off up the West Coast by rail next week now that we're out of the midge season - and am left amazed by how Crankie and her loud mouthed wannabee bully boy in the HOC are so unrepresentative of the population I meet.

The only reason I can think of for having the CC at 17.30 IS to announce something which will be price sensitive much as an RNS is issued outside of Market opening. Wishful thinking perhaps but it gives me a few hours of light heartedness whilst following this dreadful share performance!
