I know what you're on about (Nookie Brown) but to someone who has lived in NE and is in receipt of State Pension, 'Nookie' to me is either a pleasant physical experience with someone of whichever sex you fancy, or the name of Roger De Courcy's bear. It's 'Newcy (say Newky, diminutive of Newcastle) Broon (as in Toon). For authenticity (what's left) it should be drunk from a schooner glass which is topped up from the bottle kept on the table alongside the schooner. When, as a young man, being surprised to see men drinking 'Dog' from a ladies glass, a second look at the men concerned made me refrain from asking - discretion etc. Unfortunately the beer now only has historical links to Newcastle, being brewed for some years in Tadcaster as part of the Heineken group. Still tastes good and is readily available in all supermarkets in NE. A few years ago shortly before my retirement, had an afternoon at a local 'Spoons' with some younger colleagues (their choice) and not fancying any of their beers asked for and was refused a snakebite. Pretty well all large companies have the authority to buy back their own shares which must be renewed at each AGM. This does not however mean that they have plans to do so. If they were to commence a buy back plan, they would announce the details to the market and we should be informed ahead of the date via RNS.

Hi Quady, thanks for the response. I saw that from the webinar, and perhaps (probably!) my memory is failing me, but weren't we burning £60m per year on Alpala alone until we stopped drilling. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket here, but I wonder how much money of the £150m will be available to prove up the three Permits we already have, plus any more that are granted, as well as normal overheads and the not inconsiderable sums yet to be expended to take us to DFS.

With the current Government (and hopefully future Governments) being committed to making Ecuadorian mining a success, I would have thought their preference would be that once permits are granted, the permit holder proceeds with proving up those sites at a rapid pace, rather than at whatever pace best suits the permit holder. Three permits having been granted, how do we finance this rapid proving up as well as our financial commitment to DFS at Alpala? You can bet this question is currently being asked by any number of parties.

My interpretation is that if they all are so keen to sow their seeds right now, they must expect a good harvest from it!

If Alpala is held in a subsidiary company, that makes it easier to sell - you just sell the shares in the subsidiary, but you are still selling an asset - the shares.
