Sounds incredibly nasty and a potential game changer...

Asked by a delegate when the pandemic might end, Whitty said that while Covid would become less dominant over time, it would remain a significant problem across the world “for the rest of our lives”.
“Let’s have no illusions about that. I’m expecting it to be probably – in the UK – seasonal but interspersed at least for the next two or three years by new variants … I think we should just accept that is what we’re going to deal with and just roll with it rather than expect some end point.”

So revenue ought to remain strong from covid for a while. A very solid base to grow the non covid business and allows the co. to form even greater links with Tata, NHS, WHO etc
Mandy's helpful response to my lack of RNS query. A bit annoying as it would have inevitably led to a sudden burst but it's all good for those of us in for the long haul:
I did push for an RNS however as the development and future launch of Co-prep was detailed via RNS in 2021, the physical launch was not material enough to warrant an individual RNS I’m afraid.
Still on track for mid March according to Mandy, so surely this week! She wouldn't say anymore so not sure whether we will get a stonking RNS with lots of detail and other goodies or an after hours misspelt tweet.
I guess it depends on what the Board's current gameplan is...
They had the same thoughts I did..

Really hope we hear something positive soon and this is not a surprise to Novacyt.
Main article this week about biotechnology. Says diagnostic market has a bright future but perhaps unfortunately picks out EKF and GDR as the stocks to watch out for (trading at 14 times and 8 times earnings!).
In other news ONS and Gov data seems to show that covid rates have stopped declining for now.
Maybe our sp will stop declining eventually.
Ha yes different people (he seems much the wiser...). Thank you very much for clarifying. I have been a bit worried by Mandy's email all day as I couldn't for the life of me work out why they weren't buying at these levels (other than perhaps not having the personal funds to make a meaningful purchase).
And yes Harchis you are of course right, patience remains the key although I suspect many have simply lost the will here and moved on to pastures new. I'm personally not annoyed with DA, more frustrated because I feel he probably has the ammo to prop up the SP in the short term without affecting long term strategy. More annoyed with myself for not having more funds in reserve to go big at these levels. A good learning curve...
Harchris, wise words as always. Although I suspect this is our problem, noone (PI's or II's) will kick themselves if they have to buy at £1.94 or dare I say £2.94 as long as they are confident of the direction of travel. It is up to the BoD to convince the market of the bright future ahead otherwise we may remain in this position.
I have emailed Mandy my very polite thoughts and she has said she will pass them on to the Board. I have not been able to glean much new info from her apart from 1) co-prep now mid March (hmm) and 2) the directors are not in a closed period (double hmm).
As I have said before she is very responsive so feel free to share your thoughts with her (in a polite manner)
https://fortune.com/2022/03/01/hong-kong-covid-deaths-morgues-vaccinate-elderly-lockdown-omicron/
Desperate to quell surging COVID cases, the Hong Kong government is reportedly preparing to put the entire city on lockdown for nine days starting March 17, while simultaneously testing the entire population for COVID.
Some interesting points in their RNS's
1. Dispute with DHSC - they still haven't been paid but have refer to the good law proceedings in May which Hillseeker has alluded to - speculation on my behalf but it is possible that we will get some movement on the settlement front before then because you would have thought DHSC would want to avoid further parties providing evidence against them (ABDX, novacyt etc)
2. Possible return to antibody testing - this could just be a desperate ploy by ABDX but we are long overdue an update on our antibody test, perhaps novacyt are ready to pounce if the Gov show their interest
3. Their view on general outlook is aligned with ours - It remains the Company's view that the COVID-19 pandemic will serve as a catalyst to decentralise testing to the home, doctor's office or workplace, and away from costly and time-consuming laboratory testing, enabling individuals to take greater control of their own healthcare through the use of self-tests.
I'm not sure what they have to offer us but we can get them for pretty cheap if we want...
Mandy C has confirmed that co-prep launch will now 'slip into March as delivery of some parts have been delayed'. I don't know whether to believe the official line, my hunch / hope is that some arrangement has been made with Bio and that once this is out in the open co-prep / R&D update will happen but who knows. Maybe March will finally be the turning point....
https://www.theguardian.com/science/2022/feb/18/uk-lassa-fever-death-highlight-global-threat-infectious-diseases-expert-outbreak-preparednessL
The three confirmed cases of the potentially deadly Lassa fever in the UK, now very sadly including one death, are a stark reminder of our interconnected world and the need to continue to invest in outbreak preparedness and response efforts,”
Globally, the number of people contracting infectious diseases such as Lassa fever, the harms they can cause and their abilities to move rapidly from one side of the world to the other are growing – and for a variety of reasons, according to Saville. “Emerging infectious diseases are increasing in prevalence, severity and spread as a result of climate change, global transportation and human encroachment into previously isolated areas,
We are very well placed here. Both in our global surveillance role and for the panic buying whenever the next global disease hits.
First time I have read Sage's minutes. Very concise and seem to be exactly on point. Question is will the gov follow the science. If they do, still plenty of £ for Nova to make from covid in the UK (and unfortunately even if they don't there probably will still be money to be made just later down the line when all goes tits up).
I agree that there was an intention to just trigger the notification but your scenarios seem implausible. Re 1 they could have sold a few before having to notify once they had realised the error and re 2) why would they go to such great lengths to make a few bob having had revenue of just under 400m last year
