Also, a thought that can send you mad. They say that the universe was formed from a tiny particle that imploded in itself to create a massive bang. My question is what was before "nothing"? Where did nothing come from? That's the big one - where did nothing come from before the big bang?

Life on earth is a miracle in itself. It's a shame that the human race are hell bent on destroying this miracle. Not all but most.

I know about the universe. Watched Brian Cox live in October 2021.
His parting line went something like "the earth is a truly amazing place. We have only just started to understand more about the universe. In 20 years time, our understanding of the universe will be far greater than it is now unless human's f.cuk things up first...."

The are 4 wild trees on our newish estate that I can see from the front window. Only 5 years old but on Sundry I actually gave each one a couple of buckets of water to drink.
Amazing work on your tree exploits Layla. Saw a piece on Countryfile not so long ago regarding Ash Dieback - not good.
Also aware that the Olive trees have a disease that is easily spread and can wipe out a whole orchard in no time.

Using fossil fuels since the industrial revolution has speeded up the world's carbon footprint.
Also, how much greenhouse emissions have been released since the beginning of WW1. Two World Wars. Many regional wars. Besides the burning caused from bombing (inclusive of all the oilfields that have been set ablaze in the middle east wars).
This does not include forest fires because trees capture Co2 but release it when burned but the concensus is that these trees will be replaced naturally to capture carbon again. However, this is not the case in alot of the Amaxon and Indonesian regions at the monent. The trees are burned or just felled for the land to be cleared for agricultursl purposes (inclusive of palm oil). Also for the mining of precious metals / minerals.

It is impossible for all those tests (see link)) to not have an affect on humans and the eco system. When I was a kid 1 in 4 got cancer. Now it is 1 in 2 getting cancer.

I also don't know why some posters on the LSE boards (and the wider community) think that global warming is a scam.
It is real folks.
The Arctic and Antarctica are melting at an alarming rate. Higher sea levels. More freshwater released into the ocean causing the dilution of salt water which in turn will slow down the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (look it up) which pushes up warm currents from the southern hemisphere which warms the northern hemisphere - stops a mini ice age so to speak. Rising waters also means flooding. Also Siberia is thawing. The permafrost holds a mega amount of methane under it. A thaw will release more of that greenhouse gas into the atmosphere.

The most important of all in my opinion is the decline in plankton due to the state of our oceans and the atmosphere. Plankton are also very important because they help make the air we breathe.
They produce half of the world’s oxygen through photosynthesis, and they absorb carbon dioxide from our atmosphere, taking it with them down to the bottom of the ocean when they die.
If all the plankton disappeared it would increase the levels of carbon in our air, which would not only accelerate climate change, but also make it difficult for humans to breathe. Argh just read about it https://insh.world/science/what-if-all-plankton-disappeared/

Flooding becoming common place.
Starvation increasing (well it will do because Russia won't release the grain in Ukraine).
Disease and viruses on the rise.

That is why I am so annoyed with China and Russia.
China for allowing Covid19 to escape. Crushing the world economy, killing a few million and the focus on climate change being given a back seat.

The leaders around the globe need to take a step back and focus on the health of the planet as one. For the sake of our children and our children's children because do you think that it is fair that we let them pick up the pieces in a decade or two? The leaders have to collectively have the the same goal. To keep people safe. To stop all wars. To stop the movement of people because of war, safety, thirst and starvation. To ensure that the people are at least fed, clothed and housed. To clean up the world of our pollution.
Scrap Love Island, The Only Way is Essex. Brainwash the tv addicts with programmes about doing some good in the world. The last time the world got a stiffy on regarding climate change was during COP26 in Glasgow last year.
