The trouble is the provision made in the Q1 results is only a guess at likely impairments and the amount set aside deliberately calculated to ensure a quarterly profit was still made.

Difficult to assess which way the share price will go.

I don’t have HSBC Johnson. My only financials are Lloyds and Legal and Gen but I agree with you that once ex div, they should honour the payment.

As sad as it is, Lloyds are going to need their capital reserves until the extent of the business damage of the virus crystallises. Roll on getting a vaccine......

You seem to be a bit dim Livestock at times.

I was pointing out to those who think Lloyds should have paid out the dividend, the reason why it isn’t. The words “bleeding obvious” should have been a pointer for you but evidently not.

If as suggested, you go back a couple of weeks through my posting, you will read that I said the dividend cut was a necessary evil in my opinion.

I’ve read reams and reams of posts about people whinging about the dividend cut. Go and research my comments on it a couple of weeks back and apologise instead of posting countless cut and paste articles about either irrelevant nonsense or the seemingly obvious please.

That’s a tough one john lol. I know which way you are. There’s a lot of recovery being priced into stocks at the moment prematurely. Lloyds are going to have high impairment charges which will act as a drag. I’ll go for 40p but with no real conviction. I just think stock is going to be marked up on exit from lockdown probably more in hope than without any concrete foundations. We shall see......

There isn’t a problem. I mistakenly assumed you were talking about Lloyds short positions being closed on a Lloyds BB. I informed you there are no short positions in Lloyds, to which you asked for proof. Two of us have shown you different websites that prove there are no short positions in Lloyds.
