As I said to you initially, if you bother to search the trends, you will find the numbers for deaths and cases tend to increase on a Tuesday, catching up the weekend underreporting.

What’s even more poignant is that if you read the article in his link, he hasn’t quoted this bit :-

“ There were 716 people in intensive care on Tuesday, down from 749 on Monday, maintaining a long-running decline. Of those originally infected, 129,401 were declared recovered against 127,326 a day earlier.”

He’s evidently just picking the parts of the article that fit his gloomy agenda.

I read everything you wrote Darth hence the need to point out to you that the figures can be misleading on a day to day basis.

Figures for Coronavirus are generally higher on a Tuesday because Monday’s figures are underreported (as they relate to weekend deaths which aren’t always immediately accounted for). We know you like to pump out bad news continuously Darth but you you should check the weekly trends by day.

Indeed LEVIS, to a man they've all taken a hammering, something that conveniently gets ignored by the AHO bashers I’m afraid.

Whilst I sympathise with Shrimper (who has a lot of skin in the game here) over his dividend that he evidently relies on for income, I do wonder sometimes if the AHO board bashers here ever take a peep at other banks performance in the UK. A look at the 3 year share price performances of Barclays and RBS on LSE graphs reveal a similar story.

I guess with rock bottom interest rates Wids for so long, equities have been popular due to their yield often ignoring the fundamentals. It’s a pity it’s taken a health issue to make the world worse off.

A bit of good news at last Dave. Telegraph seems quite bullish this morning about the virus.

I can understand the views of some on here like Wids and John who have consistently been saying markets were overvalued. But those who seem to glory in bad news constantly and are seemingly willing an Armageddon situation in the world baffle me. One can only think they have little or nothing to lose.

One could get depressed reading the pages and pages of negativity on here. The simple fact is virtually everyone without fail is going to be impacted by the economic fallout from CV19 in one way or another. The next quarters figures are going to be horrendous regarding the economy shrinking (30% Sky mentioned earlier) so 2% is a mere aperitif.

That won’t stop a few posters (they know who they are) copying and pasting articles or links to bad news which everyone knows is coming. All rather churlish if you ask me, but if it keeps them occupied during lockdown I guess.......

I’d rather concentrate on more positive stuff myself.

Lloyds should stop paying interest on their Club Lloyds accounts. That should save them some money especially when interest rates are so low. Glad to see the mods delete RedRoos reams of party political nonsense this morning.

A 10mbpd production cut has done zilch to prop up the oil price. The world is awash with loaded tanker ships and rapidly filling storage facilities. Can’t see developing the Falklands oil fields at the moment is a sensible thing to do......

If you honestly believe Lloyds share price is 31p because of buybacks, then you either haven’t been reading the news for the last 3 months or you had been given your medication this morning.

The simple maths are the buybacks increased the share price or reduced its falls by removing shares from the register. Those who cannot get their head round that obviously aren’t that good at mathematics. Whether buybacks were the best distribution of excess capital reserves is a matter of conjecture and debate.

You shouldn’t have a problem social distancing this summer DCB with no Brits to prop the economy up there....enjoy !
