I actually think the Rwanda approach has many merits. The accommodation looks reasonable to me and it should act as a deterrent to those hellbent on coming here. They can stay in France or wherever instead. It's nothing to do with skin colour as certain posters on here keep claiming it is. If boatloads of Albanians were doing the same, I'd feel the same way. The country cannot cope with unlimited immigration. We are struggling to house people in this country as it is.

Nope, I'm in my mid 50s and have seen how destructive Labour governments have been over a long period of time. On each occasion, the Tories have been a left a large financial mess to clear up. It doesn't take a year to sort out, it takes much much longer.

Labour has always been "jobs for the boys ." Easy money in the public sector for doing very little and going home on the bell. My brother-in-law works in the public sector. We're still trying to work out what he does for a living, working from home answering e mails about arranging meetings on £50k a year with a nice pension. He wouldn't last 5 mins in a private sector job.

Boris, having won a decisive majority, delivered Brexit (admittedly fudging the NI issue and kicking it down the road) before having to face a novel global pandemic followed by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. All in the space of 2 1/2 years. Partygate was wrong and has been very damaging but if anyone on here thinks a Jeremy Corbyn government would have the country in a better place now is just plain naive.

Don't forget the immediate access to Covid vaccines that Brexit allowed us to implement saving lives whilst the EU spent months dithering and arguing between themselves. And you correctly make reference to the way Boris has stood upto Russia and been a staunch friend to Ukraine.

You've written on this BB that you advocate complete freedom of movement into the UK which is the same as unlimited immigration. Not doing a U turn on that are you now ? Plenty of witnesses read what you wrote. It's relevant to Lloyds as they're big players in the UK housing market. Would be interested to know how and where you intend putting these millions of people that would undoubtedly flow into the country.....

People seem to forget that the Bank of England has supposedly been independent since 1997 to set interest rates. Some of the current inflation can be attributed to them directly for not raising rates sooner.
