Was discussed on news last night why it is more complex than simply infection rates.
Test positivity can be deemed more of an indicator, but still not full picture.
Thought people partly due to "pingdemic" and it's consequences for many may not now be coming forward for testing and therefore skewing numbers.

Let's hope we are on right path though, time will tell. (Fingers crossed).

Remaining closed is less costly than being open so cash burn is faster if open and not achieving high enough attendances (none of us know Cineworld's attendances for the period open as yet).
The additional liquidity raised is more than wiped out by settlement to the dissenting shareholders.

None of us know exactly or for sure, but I would expect there to be rather less liquidity at the end of first half 2021 than there was at start.

I am not saying by any means the business has or is almost about to run out of money at any moment, but it's fair to say I am sure they would like more liquidity while the business and the world still has levels of uncertainty.

Start year c. $732 - less $60 per closed month, less c. $235m for dissenting shareholders.
Debt repayments alone are sizeable every month.
We have all seen the industry wide box office numbers.
Less than 3 weeks we shall see if Cineworld are swimming in cash or not.

Not sure I said numbers back (fully) to 2019 levels for what has been released, but decent numbers for a limited release so far.
That's not enough, we need more MUCH more supply on regular basis.
Still relatively early days, but Cineworld liquidity makes it difficult to wait a lot longer for this additional supply.

Some may reasonably argue that the F9 and BW figures are some of the worst seen for both franchises.

Actual financials will be poor for the accounts, much will depend on the spin the company can put on them and how second half year is shaping up.

Your weekly food shop is a far smaller percentage of your weekly wage packet now than it was in the 70's though sammy.
What I was saying is at any one point in time inflation and it's level does not increase the cost of every item we consume.
At each and every rise or fall in inflation or interest rates every single item does not equally (in percentage terms) .

Long term then generally yes.
Inflation doesn't move everything the same percentage though.

I just don't see inflation as a straight line across all industries/commodities and business do not always pass increase in any costs to customers.
If we look at Cineworld's business what costs of theirs do we think will short term rise due to a headline inflation rate (often heavily weighted by very few specific areas).

As I said latest actions by Cineworld have been to REDUCE costs in two particular ways to customers.

Sorry, to be honest this isn't a conversation you and I even need as we both believe in the future of the business and share price.

What brings too to conclude that any increase in inflation Cineworld will directly pass on costs (and more) to customers?

Recent moves by the company have been the exact opposite (I guess in an effort to encourage as many back to the cinema as quickly as possible, fully realising it will not be a case of simply open doors and wait on stampede).
They have for example reduced the Unlimited memberships in many(most) areas.
They have introduced a during the week lower cost daytime ticket pricing.

For those that say "it is only going one way" or "debt is not an issue" or "cinemas are full" or infer there are no uncertainties and it is a zero/low risk stock.
Can you please then explain why the share price is at the levels it is and not at £2, £3 where it had traded for a time prior to covid and its impact on many.

I can see potential to triple money from these levels in say 18 - 30months, but I can also see potential to drop from here.
This last year has given us a range of 15 - 124p, that doesn't strike me as a no uncertainties SP range for a companies share price.

Nothing really of note, but a few articles mostly about Cineworld's position on still having some social distancing and other safety measures around their UK cinemas.

Get out the current heat and cool down with their air con, or better still cool water spray in a 4dx screen ;-)

One point I had noted at my local cinema, the company doesn't appear to have "sold" it much is their introduction of cheaper week day rates for cinema. Something I always thought they were missing a trick on. Lower rate for off peak times and possibly encourage additional attendance numbers and subsequently revenue and profits.

Certainly shaping up to close as one of our better days in a fair while. So while it's long way from our recent highs let's enjoy today and hope for many more.

That article like one they did (last week) is garbage.
I don't see. 4% rise in last week as an "AMC" copy or anything like it all things considered.

Insider we can all hold differing views, so long as we remain civil expressing them and we should each respect others.

For most here a higher (preferably much higher) share price I am sure will please us and in investing of it happens quicker then all the better.

I did point out yesterday morning's movement as something (positive) not seen for a long time ;-)
Share price delayed briefly on opening and a sharp spike up.
Something potentially happening/brewing and previous Jangho investments have had the habit of being 5 - 10 % up on their investment instantly, so Insider your thoughts may be correct and my initial thoughts wrong.

Either way I think it would only provide short term price movements and their likelihood of bid is still very low in my opinion.

My opinion as any other here doesn't particularly matter though.
It is what likes of Jangho do or don't do and how business recovers or not in this next 6 - 18months and beyond that will decide our success or failure in this investment.

Insider, I don't believe I said we won't see 70p + for a few months yet.

If I recall the comment you may be reffering to it was in response to a £3:80 in a few months claim.
I said (if I recall correctly) that I would be happy with c. 80p+ and steadily rising in a few months time.

I never said it would take a few months or that it wouldn't be higher.

Maybe that's not what you are reffering to.

For the record I will be over the moon with constant high percentage increases, an AMC gamma squeeze (that my understanding says can not happen), a takeover/bid or anything else that sees the price absolutely rocket.
It gives me no joy having sat (like many) and saw our investment double or treble in value to then sit tight while it subsequently has halved.

I don't believe there are any strong pieces of information we have to suggest the business is doing a 2019 it better trade yet so I am not getting over excited by being a few points up on some of lowest prices we have had this year.

Here is to £3:80 or £20/£30 anytime soon though. :-)
