Sorry about the lengthy piece...a bottle of red was involved-))..I like your optimism Big Bangs..I m kind of thinking I 'll be delighted to see my money back avg. Of 2.85...seems years away but I know things will change faster..would help if ACA stopped killing it's staff!!! Happens when everyone is under pressure and costs are cut down..if safety has been compromised then it's a shame but mining is dangerous...for investors also-))!!

Are you having a laugh??!!:-)))....this is beer money back slash shrapnel back slash peanuts.....Trust me , there is sweet FA being invested in by fund managers!!!!..97% of this stock is owned by institutions ALREADY, whether it be a Blackrock or indeed Barrick or whoever else....the remaining 3% is in the hands of small fry investors like me (otherwise known as mugs!! possibly;-)):-), leaving this share price entirely susceptible to manipulation as I imagine the volume is relatively low?? (feel free to confirm or deny). What you see, is a shorters paradise, because we know there won't be news until mid-July and investors want a degree of certainty before investing. Therefore there are no NEW investors by and large right now. What I fervently believe however, is that a negotiated deal is a RACING CERTAINTY!!!!!...so at some point when we know the deal is firmed up, the shorters will be exhausted and the valuation will start jumping up as buyers will be in the ascendency. I bought in at 2.80 ish so look like a miserable fool, not least as I called a �1.00 share price months ago so could have happily followed my own advice and sold up ...I decided to hold and switch off from all the bullshit because actually, nothing has changed since last year. The ban is in place, ACA have been hammered and blah blah blah..its all sentiment and an opportunity for weak willed folk to sell at a loss to the shorters..I will hold this stock, because the political cycle will slowly change and things will improve. Massively. I can only say that don't trade by day or by week as it won't work... INVEST with the long term in mind as you'll never time it right the majority of occasions!!! This is a great punt for anyone with the balls to stick in say 200K. I can see double bubble for them by the end of the year no probs! Of course there will be an effing deal!!!!:-)) There are armies of lawyers, mining experts, govt experts (not saying much) involved....does Opium or anyone else really think that they ll **** a year up the wall and go.."erm actually...we re going to court" LOL!! nonsense!!! This will be a profitable endeavor eventually for and I fear for the short squeeze that is very close at hand...some of the greedier players will get smashed up if they aren't careful!. Patience is a virtue and god knows this is testing the depths of any ones. reserves..but...I think the lower it goes the higher the bounce..if i had spare cash I would lump in!!! hey ho. I m wondering if an outcome might be a rights issue? If barrick agrees to some major payment to foot the tax bill and the 16% free carry, would it not be the obvious way to deliver this. Where does the 16% come from?? I can t see that it gets handed over with nothing affecting us small private investors...but I Don t know enough about it or the legalities. We don t have debt like Petra Diamonds but if a substantial liability is accepted we might be looking at 3 shares back for every 5 we own...

Actually I'm just busy Opium and not hugely interested. I believe TG will get a 16% stake in each mine and the 50% you're talking of is made up in royalties and tax. Acacia paid both royalties and tax previously (shock) the remaining 34% (if the deal is to be believed) isn't "seized" or "nationalised" or "owned" by the Govt. Anything to suggest otherwise is pure speculation. There's no point spewing out alarmist Kak and then getting the needle when you're pulled up about it.

Forgot to mention to another post of yours about profit being wiped out by legal fees etc...am pretty sure they'll have political risk insurance and all sorts of cover for this shenanigans..will still cost of course but insurers and re-insurers will be picking up most of tab I imagine?!!!

Sorry Opium I misunderstood. I thought the mines had been nationalised according to your previous post?? Now only 50% "seized"..things are rapidly improving everyone..p.s. you might want to read up on what a royalty is and what corporation tax is, before mixing that up with "owning 50%" of the business. I know it's confusing but people on this board seem really nice so just ask for help and I think people will be supportive.

Our lawyers don't seem to be able to find any paperwork pertaining to us ever having an agreement in place and the Chinese feel a tad silly too, what with trying to buy a stake in mines we don't own, the whole thing has left us feeling ridiculous. On the + side its only 7% of our turnover and we don't think anyone will notice too much. anywayz onwards and upwards.

TBH you don't need to know if I'm rational or irrational Opium. None of my comments are going to affect the ongoing negotiations, the outcome and subsequent share price. All broker notes are based on what the "NOW" situation is, not on speculation as to what may or may not pass. My investment is based on a long term view that we are at the low point of a political cycle and that 2-3 years down the line, things will be very different. You have a different view and believe that the mines have been nationalised. Please don't question who is the rational one here.

Thanks Mr ABC...Just a comment on the recent broker note from Berensberg, me and a friend actually laughed when we saw it, as its a bit like plagiarising a school essay..Rocking into town and regurgitating what some brokers said months previous is embarrassing. JP Morgan said it was an investment with a "binary outcome" and some smart alec at Berensberg decides they need a new word...oh I know,...we can use "assymetric":-:::-)..I thought their input wasn't worth wiping my ass with to TBH. They know as much as you or I which in truth is not so much.

I totally agree but when you suggest we're dealing with a penny stock with worthless business which is dead (not precisely your words but certainly the sentiment) you lose any real credibility IMO. The truth is that nobody knows for sure or the stock would be worth a fiver or nothing already! Balance of probabilities with all parties negotiating is that there is something worth shaking hands on or why bother?? Why have so many people involved why write up new laws, which look at the value of the assets to consider making some JV offer? If you can give me a good rational explanation as to why so many people would put so much endeavor into a worthless business I'd be really pleased to hear it Opium.

Opium was on holiday with Magafuli and the family over the weekend and was told directly that the 190bn back tax owed is now 230bn because of interest charges. He definitely knows what he's talking about.

I'll worry if Blackrock dump their shares, but they bought a good wedge at around 2.00 last year. I am expecting to see �1.00 or lower. Have 75K at 2.80 so nuts deep here but not worried either. its like poker and I'll pay to see who's holding what, rather than being bullied into selling..that ain't ever going to happen:-) The price will keep dropping for as long as people are prepared to sell at that price and make stock available. Take a long term view and don't bother looking at the price day to day.

well don't panic with the 74% paper loss! I don't think its delusional to await the announcements rather than sell up and come to a negative "game over" conclusion. No one denies its been a horrible year, but still can't see why you are feeling quite so bleak provided one does look at this with a longer term view. Maybe your other bets will come good but if I had the spare cash, I would stick another lump in personally...in for a penny:-))!

His offerings included 'guaranteeing' a rights issue would happen and then he proceeded to bang on about the nationalisation of the mines and then next up was how the Chinese will stop a deal from happening because they want to buy Acacia for peanuts etc. etc. Every 'worst case' has been layed on thick like bad quality jam on a Victoria Sponge, making you seem almost bullish:-:::-) So you have talked about 'no news' for 6 months...what s going to happen....'nothing'! ...You might be right, but you are commenting like a day trading shorter hence the push back...As an 'investor' with a longer term view, my question to you is, at what price does Acacia become attractive to you?? In my mind 6 months is hardly 'long term' so now is clearly a marvelous buying opportunity on a speculative basis. At what point would you 'invest' and buy, or are you more interested in gambling day to day?

Well I do enjoy reading this thread and thought I ought to row in with my 2 pence worth. Possibly the future value of my holding, which for the record is far too much at just shy of 3 quid per share. As my other half says, it could still prove to be a good investment. Bless her. The honest answer is that no one knows for sure what the future holds but clearly I like many others would like to see a 2015 style rebound! This was always going to get ugly once the new production guidance came out and TBH I am expecting 1.20 or lower before this is done. Not because I think that's what the worth of the business is, but purely because there are institutions shorting away as we know and with no news likely to be imminent its a shorters paradise as there is little upward pressure likely in the forseeable. It is unfortunate that Barrick made the timelines so clear as a little more ambiguity might arguably have helped keep shorters in check a little! Anyway, my only concern here is how do people interpret the appointment of the COO from Barrick being parachuted into the fray with the TG?? Are negotiations stalling and do they need a new voice of reason? Is this to appease the massive Magafuli ego or what?? Further, is there now a 3 way negotiation with the Chinese? Are they putting pressure on the situation to get a bargain with the TG encouraging new ownership? When all is said and done, money talks and believe me, Acacia has a lot of it in the form of gold waiting to come out of the 3 mines!:-)) I think everyone wants to get their hands on it and its a question of divvying up the pie to everyones sastisfaction, otherwise everyone loses. That's why the all this shorting is just a 'side show bob'! It's nothing more than physcological warfare to get small holders like mysef to sell up, but of course I never will and even in the darkest days of winter with the price tanking I am totally ignoring it as things are going to clearly turn. Exciting times ahead IMO
