Desperately sorry for anyone who has bought in at double digits. I nearly went for this at 8-9p for lots £££. For once, I have seriously bullet dodged as this looks like a question of time before it comes out with a begging bowl.

I'll be holding these for as long as it takes Super. No intention of selling, but I like playing devils advocate with myself as much as anything so that its an "eyes wide open" decision! At least if it goes tits up I won't beat myself up about it!:-))

I think I have a reasonable chance of getting my money back in the next 6-12 months which would be a relief given the rollercoaster. Any profits above £2.95 would be magic!!! Here's hoping and waiting. And then Waiting some more, and some more. arrghh.

Thank Super. I hope entirely that we do get a £5.00 offer. I just feel there is a lot of risk in Tanz. and that will dampen the prospects of a good deal. I want to be wrong though believe me.

I was thinking BB's opinion would be really good for my question. Though anyone else please row in. BB suggests I'm over-negative and talk the share down. If you get a chance, could you simply type in "tanzania" into google and then click on "news". Skim read the headlines and then tell me how sure you are about the safety of our investment? I won't flavor this with a view, just ask for an objective opinion.

I always thought this happened because of automated brokerage systems?? The system is constantly selling/buying at the best available price and may only shift a very low number before the price moves marginally and then repeat. Hence lots of very small trades which is part of a bigger block.

The point being missed if I may be so bold is that the political risk going forward is on a new level, which is why you'll never see anything like the same price. Regardless of a resolution here, the country is far riskier to operate in which will be built in to any subsequent offer. The Militant Mining Act will lead to fines for dirty water, angry villagers, a fatality etc..miners will get fined on trumped up charges regularly and it won't be plain sailing. On the positive, Barrick will not be allowed off the hook for dumping this risk when they carved out ACA. They are repsonsible for much of what has gone wrong and have hung us out to dry, which is why we will get a premium of sorts to avoid a backlash from the likes of Odey etc.

I don't disgaree with anyones comments as there is no black and white conclusion here, or the share price would reflect the narrative already! I don't talk the price down, I just like to make the arguments more balanced.

I can see Supers point and have to agree that these Barrick/Randgold guys are ultimately hard nosed businessmen who will do everything to get Acacia as cheap as they can. Fortunately, it requires ACA's agreement along with various instituitonal investors as our safety net.

Its clearly a mess and will take frickin ages to sort still, but BB could be perfectly right with his suppositions and only time can tell.

I will personally get out of dodge with I hope 10-20% on my £3.00 purchase and put it down to experience. I don't trust that an agreement will hold fast as Tanzania is moving the wrong way as an authoritarian state that is dehumanising folk and getting the ire of the international community. I can't see it being hugely stable, so whatever happens guys, it is a window and nothing more I think!!!!

Perhaps though BB, they may not get the framework agreements in place because of the stubborness and disorganisation of a militant Tanz GOT. Perhaps it still goes through a long drawn out process of arbitration and that the best way to protect Acacia, the staff and the long term viability of the mines is to bring it in house??

Then you need to think of an offer, based on where we are today and not what it used to be or could be in the future. Any offer, will be grounded in the reality of current Acacia's production numbers and that feels more like £2.20 - £2.70 range. Just putting alternative prognosis out there, as a bit of devils advocate is fair.

I still think timing wise, this will be a Q2 deal around April/May - just a finger is in the air but they talked about H1 deadline last time and thoughts are that it might be in some sort of annual cycle..i.e. framework deal announced last October and took full year for any signs of progress..I don't think the shorters will drag us down to 1.00 again at least as its too risky for them.
Finally, I can't see how we'll get an offer even close to £5.00?? Any number touted is a pure guess, so I'm just taking the median average over the full life of acacia, which looks closer to £3.00. Than £6.00.

Not suggesting it'll be a weak deal BB...what I'm saying is that it'll be a better deal surely, if the framework agreement and final settlement comes first, not the other way around...

Not sure that will happen until the Dividend Payments get renewed, which would be 2020 at the earliest. My hope is that the likes of Odey, block Barrick buying us out on the cheap! They wanted to de-risk their portfolio by floating off Acacia a few years back, but its not fair to create a shit storm for small investors with the inception of weak agreement and then expect us to foot the bill when it all goes wrong!!! I would personally never vote for a share swap until agreement is in place, so we know the value of our business going forward and can realise it in an offer.

Just another 1:30 to go on today's price and I'll break even!!!:-)))

The Gold price will edge up now apparently with a weaker dollar likely after the mid-term elections and ensuing volatility in 2019, that will come from the result. Its interesting to see what moves stocks, as there is no other reason this has enjoyed such a healthy rise!

Curiously, I thought the most positive vibe was Tanzania distancing themselves from the rhetoric about rounding up the gays and locking them up. It looks as though the GoT is capable of doing U-turns when pressure is applied from international community!!! From Gays to Gold...here's hoping!

Here is the latest - talks have slowed but Barrick remains optimistic - no conversation about a sale or buy-back of any description has happened between Acacia and Barrick. The issues under discussion that are creating the deadlock cannot be disclosed and finally the timetable for discussions..there isn't one!

Can every one now stop banging on and on naively, about an imminent deal!!. There won't be one until 2019 and probably end of H1.

We will remain under pressure from the shorters and anyone who buys this stock should do so with the long game in mind or your just gambling on what may or may not happen from day to day. You are better off down the casino !

Long term this is a great bet however and Acacia management have done well to keep the show on the road! let's be optimistic but an imminent deal...not a chance.

I think everyone has pretty much called this right. I actually see the latest move by the GOT as a signal of weakness and whatever the deadlock is, they are starting to get a bit desperate. What we will at least get to see, is the Tanz justice system in action and my guess is, it'll be pretty shite!:-))! I still think this will be a next year thing but it would be nice to get an update and get a sense of how far apart the two parties are...! Probably a long way apart, if the GOT has to run around arresting individuals. Magafuli will crack first! He needs the cash and wants to get re-elected! His new law allowing him to fiddle economic data won't wash and meaningful investment must be drying up..tick tock Mr President:-)))!

I'm not being negative BB just pragmatic and saying that it would be a bit naive to think that the Tanz G would work or fit around Barrick's Q3 results. Thinking there will be much definitive news might be a bit daft but as I have said I'd love to be wrong!! This will come out of the blue when know one is expecting. But come it will.

Very glad to only be 50% down on my investment now:-:::-). just to stop too much blind optimism though, I can't see an announcement until next year personally. Does anyone really think that the Tanzanian govt. is going to try hard and get an agreement ready for Barrick because Q3 results are close at hand and its some kind of deadline they feel obligated to meet???? HAHA!!!!!! I would hope we have seen the bottom but until a final agreement is signed sealed and delivered, the shorters will smash this back down again. Perhaps not to below a quid but...am not reading much into the rise apart from the shorters holding off as the risk has gone up for them. I want to be wrong.

I totally agree and would love to average down but alas BB!! Here's hoping for some dollar weakness, so at least a strengthening gold price can underpin the overall story here...

Well BB, you know how I have become more prudish on timings! Really happy to see this share price get up from off the canvass, but in the absence of a meaningful update come end of October Barrick results, I can see the shorters sinking their teeth in again. I still think this could be a next year thing, which gives plenty of time for another race down below the lows of a couple of weeks ago...Hopefully something positive is coming, but, I'm still not convinced this deadlock is going to be broken just yet and Barrick may be slopey shouldered about a meaningful update. There's no point trying to second guess, so will continue to hold for the long term!!

Good for you Supercharger! I do need the cash to keep my company going, but somehow I have managed to stay firm. I am at a point where I will survive without touching my shares and am excited about holding these. It's a learn I guess and very frustrating. My friend works for an NGO and advises Tanzania on economic strategy. He was very helpful in swaying me to hold. His view was that if it takes a long time to get a deal done, that it's a very good thing. Tanz Govt has a habit of rushing through policy and making stuff up on the fly. the longer it it takes, the more likely the solution will be long-term and solid, without another mess being created!! it makes the pill less bitter thinking of it on these terms!!:-))

Hi Super, yes, effectively when the original loaned stock gets returned to BlackRock from MW at the lower price, they'll get a % of the extra shares MW manage to buy at the new lower price. Black Rock don't buy or sell the stock as that might create regulatory issues (?), but its a nice way to stay legal and make money through a Partner deal with MW.

I guess it only matters to us if we sell and give in to pshyocological warfare. I won't take any notice of the current low price and will hold indefinitely in the hope of seeing £3.50 + one day!:-)) Don't led the bastards touch your shares at this price!!!!!!:-)!
