I'll be clear again Dimi. I have held these shares for nearly two years and have a fair number of them at £3.00 ish. I have always believed that eventually there would be a deal but have been a lone voice for a long time giving those effervescent posters suggesting that it would happen a) by Christmas 2017. b) when Barrick announced H1 of 2018. c) a number of other false starts, based on random bits of info that have popped up. If i now call it wrong by a few months then by all means have a pop. My H2 2019 or even 2020 has yet to be proven wrong, but where I'm personally concerned its academic as I will hold until there is fair value for these shares.

actually I think the "other revenues" will hopefully mean the supply chain and 3rd parties involved....? Hope so! any thoughts BB?

I just read an article with a Govt official suggesting they well get 65-70% of the economic benefit!!!!! If that is the final deal we are pretty screwed are we not???

In fairness to BB he probably knows more than many brokers and to your surprise you may also without realising. The brokers who come up with buy sell and hold notes really are pretty clueless. They re not their with algorithms and secret information they are often just reacting to the news and are reactive.

Good call BB! You see it in red and think the worst but this is of course spot on! As per what you have said with the link! I'm no idiot, but lets be clear..its not done until its done. And. It isn't done. Its certainly getting closer but nobody is appreciating the volume of legal work involved. Don't forget that the actual Mining Act will also need to be changed to accommodate what this agreement entails as it will flavor the whole mining sector, so its not that simple. You will have legal teams arguing over wordings and a decent amount of time spent on ironing out the practicalities of the agreement. I personally think, it'll take a good while for the process to get to a point where everyone signs off on it and the ban gets lifted. This is not weeks but months. That said, a lot of this must have been started when the original announcement was made in October 2017. We are here a year and a half later at the EXACT same point on the surface!!!! Why be so surprised to suggest H2 or even in to 2020??? Why is that unreasonable?

Sorry no dimi! There is no deal. Don't be naive. There is nothing signed , nothing concrete and can you show me please, one comment from the Tanzanian side saying yes we have agreed a deal??? As I say, I fully respect that Barrick is creating positive pressure and of course the eventual deal will be as has been outlined. Until both sides actually sign something and can make a joint statement of some sort and more crucially the ban gets lifted, there is nothing done.

erm...well so much for that...just seen a sell order for over $5million go down!:-0

I totally agree Dimi..I'm mentally in a space where I'm thinking 2020 and anything sooner is a plus..no rush as such but would love to see this done like everyone else. I see the comments on here and its like "yeah it'll take a couple of weeks to do the admin then there'll be a vote and so it all be done in a month"....and then everyone starts getting group think nodding and agreeing..i'm just saying that if you think that you're on another planet!!!!

...does anyone believe me that it'll be H2 at the earliest yet before this all gets done and dusted?: Sadly the GOVofT is shambolic and they are now unpicking the law they rushed through in 2017 which is at least progress of sorts. It must feel like death by a million cuts for JT and MB. I know people think that a nice prospectus will land on ACA's desk and all it gets neatly approved and done and dusted. No. This is a bitter fight with both sides entrenched. Barrick as the arbiter will of course talk about major progress and that a deal is very close etc as it creates positive pressure on both sides. The reality is that both sides are being dragged kicking and screaming to settle. The Govt are still making threats to close the mines and ACA are pushing ahead with Court action. Yes this is going to be sorted I believe and yes, if we all sit tight it'll come good. But...It's not going to be a good while still (months now and not years!!!). Eventually you'll believe me!:-))!

I guess there are a couple of positive spins on this to take. 1. the spillage in part has been caused by sabotage not negligence. 2. if the GoT were so militant and anti ACA , then North Mara would already be shut! They don't want that despite the tough talking. 3. ACA is designing a new pumping system to support "future" production..there is a future!:-)

There's nothing here too terrible and it feels much more like a partnership between ACA and the Ministry in my opinion. Obviously, there is a risk of the issue being difficult to fully resolve but no one is closing down any mine anytime soon!

I take notice also, that every time positive news builds up about ACA something happens to knock the SP down. Are Marshall Wace their bending pipes and drilling holes in them??:-))

That's a good spot re: crispin odey. Last year he was cited as intending to block the deal as he believes Barrick should be shouldering more of the financial responsibility. I guess he is jockeying for position to increase his power to veto if he thinks the final deal is poor value for small shareholders.. It was also apparent last year that he is buddys with the owner of Marshall Wace who are the main shooters out there. Is Odey lending his stock out for shorting purposes and what's the deal here? Well dodgy IMO.

Interesting thanks Dimi..I am sure this will eventually be positive regardless of the eventual shape of things.

I don't believe Barrick will sell North Mara. It can take up to 20 years to find gold and develop a new site and we know that fewer big finds are drying up. This mine is on the cusp of being a "Tier 1" asset and I think that it will get investment and made operationally stronger. There are years of production left and I fail to see why Barrick would sell up?

Finally the new operating company will clearly have a new ownership structure, but disposing of Bulyanhulu and Buzwagi in the aftermath of this deal, doesn't make much sense to me either. The Chinese may well get involved on a strategic level, but they may not want these mines even. They would want North Mara and I don't think its for sale!

by the way guys just so you rest in peace, I have run boolean searches on google around "john Mbutta" and/or "tax" - mbutta tanzania and tax or expert etc etc...not one reference to this guy anywhere...because he doesn't exist!!!:-)))).Just makes it even more stupid!!:-)

North Mara is a bit of a crap shoot to be fair but no more that anywhere else!! Years???WTF???? I said 2nd half of this year possibly dragging in to 2020?? And ...TBF I ve maintained that since this time last year hence banging on about political cycle. Your actually around 12-18 months late based on your ongoing sage like predictions.. . -)) you had more false starts than the Grand National!! Appreciate the options commentary ...that's not exclusively why options get issued though as they are more often than not used as LTIPs. If you can cash them in that quick then obviously it changes the perspective on what may be happening. I didn't t think that this was permissible but am sure you are right. We know not to read too much into these things by now..surely?-)!

I take the options as what they are designed for...long term incentive plans to vest in the future. You don t issue options and then get to cash them in. There will likely be a minimum 2 year vesting period but it can be 3 or 5 which I m sure you all know. This to me is an signal that ACA will not be sold imminently. It's good news and clear that they have a future and need these execs on board to deliver.

It should concern you Dimi!!! The point is it's supposed to as otherwise how will shorters get you to part with your shares unless they make you panic?? The whole point is to scare you into doing exactly that. what I will say is that the share price starting jumping before any announcement and now they are sliding because the shorters know that the actual paperwork will still take a bit of time. I urge everyone to email the FCA on this stock as its very clear that all of this is insider dealing....!! You can't tell me that after 2 years, the share price rose before the news for several days based on guesswork!!!!!!? Marshall Wace no full well nothing is coming just yet and can rig the price down based on news they shouldn't have. Not Good.

Being a bit contrarian you never know..barrick may in the meantime not want to sell to the Chinese. This would wave goodbye to involvement in tanzania which I m sure has the potential for more gold finds and can be grown and expanded. Also this was a huge hassle so to fix the issue finall, only to then sell up immediately makes no sense...the lifetime value of these mines is worth way more than selling up for a quick buck and I don t see Barrick suddenly washing their hands of a major asset in north Mara.
