It seems to me that with Acacia not wanting Barrick to vote on any final deal and Barrick pushing to be able to, that Barrick have not been entirely straight in resolving this for Acacia. I m disappointed in Mark Bristow as he is clearly bullying the AcA board into submission which hasn't yet worked. That they own 64% of ACA and created the original framework under Barrick Africa, its poor to blame ACA for behaviours and ways of working which were created by the predecessors. Bristow needs to take full ownership of his responsibilities of where this mess came from not full ownership of ACA to resolve matters. This is on Barrick now not GOT or Acacia.

I would be surprised if they wrap up things in 3 months from an initial hearing! 3 years more like. I don't think it ll ever get to court though. It will focus minds having the date set I m sure.

I think the threat that ACA could choose the arbitration route and drag this out is very real. This is the strong card they have and will force a deal come August at latest.the share price reflects that this could go on for years if it gets to the court.

Do you not think that there is a real possibility of there bring no deal with the GOT until Barrick buy out ACA?? This is the point as we will not see full value or anything like and now seems like one of the various potential outcomes in play. I will be holding either way as clearly we'll eventually see more than 1.50 either way.

Well...I think I need a slice of this. I thought the main thing to call was the timing of all this, which I might have roughly called right. However, I only say that as there is egg on the face a plenty! I really didn't think that Barrick would be trying to stitch us up but its looking that way potentially. If its not the GOT holding this up, then its Bristow manipulating things to buy us out on the cheap perhaps. I see words like "no premium" and the price being shorted to hell and naturally like all of us, it makes me feel somewhat nervy and very suspecting. Good on ACA to withstand the pressure, but I can't help feeling that Barrick and the GOT will eventually wear them down and get us on the cheap. I'm not sure I'll get my £3 quid per share back but feel free to offer optimism on this!:-))

Not sure I like the sound of that. Carving up ACA and we won t see any real value..starting to feel my 2.90 is a bit stuffed as it doesn't look like a deal and business as normal with a sale or part of assets separated thereafter will happen, which would be best for us. Not sure what to make of all this but no doubt the shorters get the inside track way ahead of us plebs.

Hi all..BB is right in that then old board are long gone already so the head will roll comment had already been played out. I remind us all that part of the issue is that Barrick derisked their portfolio by floating ACA and it has bitten them in the ass. The legacy problems with the GOT predate the float and Crispin Odey for one is demanding they pay a premium for their part in offloading the mess on to the major institutional shareholders. This is our insurance against any stitch up. Our interests are aligned with the JPMs and Blackrocks of this world.

I am keeping a close eye on the price and suspect that the current levelling off and rise off recent lows is another dead count bounce. Very tempting to buy back in but....too soon I think! I'm not sure if they will push it back to a £1 anymore. The short position is dropped from 0.89 to 0.59 so the slide may only be a gentler ride down to around 120-125...we can't predict the future of course so all based purely on gut instinct. This stock is a real grind either way and getting boring!!!!

Here we go.....yeah I m a big shot shorter and I know if I come on to this board and encourage you to sell....it ll make me soooooo rich. I have had 75k ins this stock at 2.90 odd since June 2017. Just to be clear I think you re a bit ridiculous. This share had been a quid before in the last few months and has been shorted down to 1.40 and counting..if you don t think it cant go down 40p with no buyers then that's your lookout

It's the ultimate game of patience..I hope I have spare cash to top up..but I think this might go down to £1.00 over the next 4-6 weeks...my guess is that this will be resolved literally days before August court hearing..after all negotiations always go the wire.

Actually Parfett...your idea could be possible I'm not dismissing your suggestion...I still think it'll happen the other way.

We already know that North Mara is the only mine Barrick will eventually keep as they have been abundantly clear on startegy. With Bulyanhulu now looking like it has an extended life, the future production that mine is capable of, falls short of what Barrick wants in its portfolio. There will clearly be a sale of some ACA assets, but I can't see this happening until after the ban is resolved so that shareholders can enjoy full and fair value. Barrick is not interested in driving ACA's share price down as it won't make buying ACA any cheaper for them or anyone else. Its more likely to happen a few months after the deal when the whole sector has calmed down and there is some clear water to return to normality. Its way too difficult and confusing to try selling bits or parts of a business when there is arbitration hanging over all parties.

Don t forget all the outstanding VAT the GOT owes ACA as well...should help reduce the 300m fine somewhat...

Given we are near all time highs in the market, the GP is holding up remarkably well. This is a high base for it go up from when the mother of all credit bubbles goes pop one day.

Then your only vision of the situation is that there will be no deal and that this is the limit of Acacia's ability to produce into the future? Who would buy that narrative realistically??

So..as an extension of previous contained rant:-)......I can see today by lunchtime a humungous amount of under 100K has been traded today precipitating circa a 3% drop. When you have such low volumes and no buyers of any note owing to trade dispute, its terribly easy to drive the price down. Many of the shares trading hands are lent by Blackrock and the like to the traders who then have to buy them back, so they are just trading with their own shares + the odd few held privately by traders who are also trying to play the game themselves. That's why there is a very probable chance we'll see £1.00 but also why its utterly irrelevant for a long term investor or major institution. By the way Dimi...its not helpful for Barrick that the share price is cheap as with your argument the Chinese would rock in to town and make an offer for £2.00 a share and Barrick would go wowwwww that;s a great deal!!! :-))..if ACA ever got sold it wouldn't be for less than £3.00 and that's still a total steal!

Answers on a postcard as to anyone who can explain why/how Barrick would get to purchase Acacia cheaply based on the share price at any given time? See...I'm pretty sure when a business is valued, it gets done on what the business is worth. all its assets, its production numbers, cash in bank, future prospects etc. Its nothing to do with share price as that may not reflect the value of a business or definitely not in our case...! its not even beneficial giving 16% to the GOT at low share price...its still 16% OF THE BUSINESS...so I cant fathom why you would suggest that Barrick are terribly smart and implying that they are somehow conspiring to get the share price down so they can low ball an offer????? Really Dimi? I'd love to learn what I'm missing here...amyone..? yours - perplexed by below comment.

WOW. Its alright from some. The majority of people don't have a pot to p%SS in so we are discussing first world issues here!!:-) If I can get some cash in during May I will top another 25K in to this share which would average me down to about £2.50 per share B/E. Happy Days I reckon. That said lets say this if it was a racing cert we'd all be sat on 6 quid a share. Truth is, the GOT are erratic and stuff could happen to blow this out the water. Talks can break down, people can get to the edge of something and change their minds etc!!! Truth is though, Gold is there, needs digging up and needs selling. The rest will take care of itself!!:-) Get your Prayer Mats out boys and girls:-))!

I notice people beating themselves up for not selling or buying at the right time on this, but I think we're being harsh. We all should buy and then wait like good little investors should do. If it goes down then wait. It gets very stressful trying to second guess and trade in and out etc. I've been in this for pretty much 2 years and am 50% down. But. On paper. It will make me a profit eventually and needs to give me a good £4.00+ to make it worthwhile. That will come when things are sorted. Beyond the arbitration side, there are local elections coming up soon and the empasse won't have been missed by the village leaders who influence how regional votes go and some of that 300M will be for local projects that have been promised. As the political stuff heats up there will be the needed motivation to sort this. Had we a functioning democracy in Tanz that pressure would already have gotten us a result. Its just a shame they choose to shoot the opposition and jail them in this country!!! How could anyone think this would only be a year or so to sort is beyond me. Money on H2 2019 doesn't look so stupid now though I got accused of being some big shot Shorter when I suggested that last year and into this!! Don't worry though.....By this time next year Rodney....We'll be millionaires!!!!:-)))
