Well my maths tells me I need Barrick to hit 29 CD to now break even..one thing I d say is either sell now or wait for £ to strengthen as exchange rate is s%$t..stronger GP and £ is the new prayer!-))

I can imagine that one. I bet Bristow is all bluster and passion selling the deal and Odey totally non-plus! Worst worst case if this goes the wrong way over the next few days, Barrick isn't going to watch 64% of their ownership turn to toilet water and the GOT aren't going to kill the golden goose long term either. I'm 100% sure that eventually sense will prevail and all round fair play is the only way out.

Hi BB! I better say something positive and just had a good thought. ACA wouldn't suspend arbitration without consulting the shareholders and the shareholders wouldn't agree to it, if they thought conversations with Barrick weren't progressing. Of course ACA can't say "hey everyone we think we'll get a decent offer from Barrick so we'll suspend arbitration" Better to suggest that its between Barrick and GOT than give the game away!;-)) Makes sense to me.

Pretty sure they are going to get bought out on the next 12 months and I think they look cheap in the LT. Anyway I digress. Let's sit tight on this Gold Mine malarkey. I think now that we suspended arbitration we are the ones that blinked first and are in the position of weakness. Anyway am only guessing with any of this now. If we get an offer it ll be after hours Friday. I just think we ll get another extension and with the mine shut for 2 weeks the SP will slide and Barrick will stiff us. I hope to God not but nothing here feels like a happy ending.

How long is any cash pile going to last when NM is shut down as of Saturday!! Not long methinks.

I would say the odds of this being concluded by the end of the week as utterly bonkers. We may get an offer to then argue over for the next few weeks at best. Nothing to do with this story suggests a neat and tidy ending so I don't expect a conclusion on this. Personally I am mentally prepared for high volatility on this stock as things turn much nastier. Its what I expect, but eventually I believe the solution will come and intend holding long term. Also fed up, but if the GOT and Barrick wish to destroy value by dragging it out so be it. Its worth a lot more to everyone, to get the mine running and producing. My prediction in the process:
- 1. Low offer circa £2.10 rejected 2. NM effectively shut down. 3. Arbitration date reset. 4. Same shenanigans all over again with either GOT cracking or Barrick upping an offer after the summer.,..!! One thing I'm still confident of, is that we'll eventually get a fair deal.

No plummeting Pat...expect the unexpected with this.. I think we won't get what we want with threat of closure. Its now a case of accept the offer or be shut down!!! I personally think we should go to court and play the long game but we'll get a ****ty compromise offer at about £2.20 instead. There....now I've said it, I can be sure of something unexpected to happen. Good unexpected I hope not bad unexpected.

Odey's buying continues. The latest purchase of £180k worth happened yesterday so they seem unperturbed and not cowed by the GoT's planned North Mara site visit. 9,454,677 2.31%

Hi BB..that's interesting. I wasnt sure if the Board give the thumbs up and then the shareholders vote on the recommendation by which time its academic? I guess the board canvas the investors first before making the recommendation to accept. Either way, my 75Gs at 2.94 will see a loss I reckon. Will personally sit on Barrick shares and wait for the next stock market crash. Wasn't the plan but hey ho.

The Board recommend the deal Pat. Doesn't mean the Sshs have to accept.

I held back from suggesting 50p!! Arbitration would be dangerous ground. Slapping your hosts in the face in court will one imagines stir up a Hornets nest. Am only gaming here. Just wonder what the other side could look like to understand the hesitant SP advance. ( we were 1.90 2+ weeks ago so not sure daily gains is quite accurate)

Not an opinion here but there is an elephant in the room which is why the SP isn't moving much. If ACA was a clear and obvious bet for a sale at 2.50+ we d already be there. Please all have some caution as if a deal can t be reached and this goes to arbitration expect a fall to easily below £1 again. This could go either way which is abundantly clear from the current SP which is signalling nothing more than cautious optimism.

At the end of the day MB is doing his job which is to maximize shareholder returns for Barrick. He wouldn't be CEO of such a business without being very hard nosed at negotiating and being a professional c€^nt...that's how it is. This will also flavour all future deals he undertakes so no to increasing the offer has to mean no. The rapidly rising gold price really does change things and gives him an out as such..I admire MB but sometimes you have to look past your ego.

Disappointing to see such a poor valuation. I can only believe that this is the price 'as is' and not a reflection of value with the ban lifted?? Is this actually what ACA are asking for? I wonder if Odey finds that palatable as he is firmly pushing for a premium because of the legacy issues. Imo 2.70 is a low number...but better than 1.80.

I'd be happy interpreting it your way BB!!! Maybe because I had read others suggest £2.20 I inferred 50% above 1.47 and this was another voice giving that number credence! Regarding Odey...I'm also pretty sure he has our back here..,.well ..as a bi-product of him wanting to stick his snout in the trough!!...I hope today passes wit NO DEAL which many might object to, but I really believe this will put full pressure on the GOT and they'll crack!
