I remember around 2 years ago a non-exec who was matey with the William Hill Chairman and he was saying that they would get bought out by a US business and suggested I buy at circa 3.10p at the time. At 1.50 i really wanted to dive in but have my cash tied up. This will almost certainly get bought by a US firm in the next few months and has been on the cards for a long time!!! I suspect a lot of the value is evaporating but still a good 20-30% to be made.

Hi super..I may be wrong about holding and converting aca to barrick as we won t get the barrick dividend! That's due on 17th september and our shares in barrick kick off on 20th. Will now gave to crunch some numbers but 10p special div versus barrick div is a start point for comparison.

Well its not punishable by death BB and all these calls are very marginal very often! The benefit of hindsight makes us look either like we really know what we're talking about or dumba@Ses...but neither are really true as we're not ultimately in control here! Long Term is the best call of all and with that in mind, if you have a spare 5K and can leave it for a few years I'd go and stick it in a "Clean Food" investment fund set up by the founder of Innocent Smoothies. Its called Agronomics and the share ticker is ANIC. They are investing into companies that are commercialising Lab Grown meat and fish. This industry will take a few years to get going, but logic dictates that this is where the future of food production will head. Worth a small stakes punt and could make 5K worth 500,000K if one of their investments hits the jackpot! Good Luck with MTRO and INDV.

By the way I hear that StockABC is a really great guy and will absolutely give you kind words and not try to rub your face in his shL£. Being petty, I am particularly glad he cashed in his investment too soon and stuck it doubtless into something performing far worse that ACA.:-)!

The other reasons for holding ACA beyond the special dividend include the fact that Barrick will also take a good 4-7% jump on a resolution with GOT. Further they are highly likely to raise their dividend at the end of the year. You add it all up even without the increase in GP and share price and you d stillnenjoy circa lowest case a good 10-12% on your money. PS I would be careful about individual mines after our experience and the increased GP is only going to stoke up more resource nationalisation!!

Beware of your dead cat bounces on this one lads. This will go way lower. Until you re psychologically seeing your blood on the carpet it ll keep going down..so if some are thinking it's going to suddenly bounce cos the shorters are running scared, then that's kind of a signal in it's own right. If only it were that predictable!!

I m short term less bullish but only short term...as we re in august with low volumes..hard to call but bulls clearly have it. Equally can see gold in a 1420-50 range for a while before it takes the next leaps and bounds. Let s see... either way 1600 is a guarantee in next 12-18 months as is IMO 1700, 1800 and just on from there!

I think the gold in containers will be used to pay off the GOT probably. We ll see jack s#/t of that Super but still assets out there with value.

No you re correct BB but they are already in advanced stages of selling assets and are mooting between 9p and 13p as the special dividend which is why it's worth holding. Its effectively 4% ROI which most investors would be happy about over 12 months.

Wow just reading some posts here and as someone sitting on sidelines and emotionally detached from proceedings I see a lot of deluded folk. The parallel to Northern Rock is NOT insane. You have 2bn in withdrawals on not much negative news and see from that how quickly something can sour. A business that has its profits drop through the floor and starts selling portfolios is simply vulnerable. Has no one learned that a lot of stock movement is about sentiment not facts? We re not even in a recession and the customers are on a hair trigger withdrawing money!!! Sorry but to me this will take some time to turn around and the shorters will make you burn. As long as you don t mind your stock falling well below £2 and waiting for 3 years to get your money back enjoy!!

Way better in my mind to be in Barrick than guessing with other stocks as its "safe" as a bet!! Once the special dividend comes into play I only need 21$ with barrick to break even. At bloody last!!-))

That's a question I have asked myself and from what I can tell, a 1% rise in gold would see 3% on to the SP of the miners. So 70% rise in Barrick would need to see circa 25% on to the GP taking it to 1900 per ounce..last time that price was hit Barrick was over 50$ so doesn't t seem unreasonable to expect 30+ dollars. I can see this happening over the next 12-18 months as the global economy comes off.

Tullow is volatile and good for trading but not sure about oil demand in a looming recession so not for me as an investment
Can t comment on others though dominoes will probably do well (how much of that is hard baked in current price:-))..am looking at long term plays in the 'clean food' space like argonomics and also healthcare like horizon discovery group. William Hill is likely to recover and also get bought out over next 12 months and looks good for a 20-30% uplift.

I kind of feel sorry for BB or anyone in Metro. The idea is a good one but yesterday in the morning it shot up 9% and I just though "suckers rally" and now its lost all those gains an some more! Such a bull****. Basically Metro is worth whatever price the big boys want it to be and fundamentals mean nothing. That'll go below £2 quid given time!!! Meanwhile our ACA price should now be at 2.57 for parity with Barrick!!! yummy

I think gold will trade in a range and then do another massive 100 point leap later in year...here's hoping...would be good to see Barrick past 20 dollars before the vote in September!

That was interesting to read. I m not claiming I m the Oracle it's just a strong whiff of what seems to be going on. Let's see what the future holds!!-)

First up I m really happy you made good cash. I actually tipped this off when it was 3 quid or so but my friends and others were deep into other stocks. I was quite an advocate of prism to say the least.
What I have learned recruiting in to this space is from the actual practitioners who are managing the process changes in a business and working with the developers. I am always looking out for business in this space and ask the question about rpa to clients regularly.
Just yesterday another major telco shared with me what I universally hear...that automation works on some simple tasks but it's actually much harder to make true efficiencies and savings as it shoves pinch points and bottlenecks around other parts of an end to end process. You remove headcount say in the claims department but all the back office staff suddenly have more work on their side!!
I would say most customers have gone about IA wrong and its proved costly.
They certainly haven't given up on IA and are largely bringing it in house with small teams and doing it themselves with the long term in mind.
My view is that the uptake with existing customers will slow but there are many businesses in the uk that are still to use it. My gut tells me that prsm sales is going to slow however and where does that leave them?
My other longer term belief is that a google or Microsoft will come along with a much better product. Prsm is based on open source software so there is no IP. They have packaged together something that has pretty much always existed and marketed it well. Hence my view that this is actually a piece of c#ap and won t be around in 3-5 years. This is just a first wave of product in the IA space which will get gazumped by something else but it won t be prsm behind it cos they re too busy servicing debt to invest in better. I might also add that none of the banks have thought about the next regulatory change that ll come along....all the IA work they have done will be made obsolete and they ll have to automate the new compliant processes all over again. You cant just simply add a bit of code it would have to be redone..so a lot of this is a fad poorly thought through by business and although it's worked in part..its limited and been costly.
I hope that helps. You can still trade in and out and maybe make money here but LT I can t see it.

Not sure how Barrick will rise but best guess is quite slowly. Seems to nick a fraction of a per cent each day but as a mature business its ot going to keep shooting up unless GP does something dramatic aka a stock market meltdown.
